I saw Lisa on the news show. Lisa looked very elegant, and lovely. She spoke about being stalked, and that she had not known how to deal with it, so just went to work, and home. She was asked about her departure from QVC, and did not give a direct answer, but did say that she is not retired. That was about it. You should be able to google Good Morning America, and view it.
Thanks for the update on Lisa's appearance on "GMA". ![]()

I saw GMA and Lisa talked about her years of stalkers, and a little about how she changed from fear and isolation to being a strong woman. Horrible for her.

Which Jackque was she talking about? Host or model?
Regardless, what a heartless thing to say to anyone.....she's a twit. Never liked her....now I like her even less.
In addition...BOTH Jacques are pretty.
Lotus....it was Jackie the model....it was heartbreaking....I was so sad for Jackie...
I really don't know how Jackie could come and model for her again....but she was on the next Lori show.. I noticed a cool distance between them....
WoW~ I can't believe Lori said that! Do you remember what item was being presented?

I've heard from people in radio, that radio is very political and cutthroat and it doesn't matter how popular you are with the audience - if someone in power decides they don't like you, you are out. I don't know anyone in television but I wonder if it's the same situation. Lisa could have gotten caught up in the Claire Watts being forced out situation. She did state on air that she was very upset when Claire left. The other thing I find interesting is her wording in her blog on GILI when she said "when the decision was made that I was leaving." If it had been her decision, she would have been more direct and said something like, when I decided to leave.
This quote is from her blog:
"My connection with the line was one of the hardest things to leave at QVC. I loved creating it, but when the decision was made that I was leaving the company, unfortunately, I had to leave the line as well."
I just found her wording a little odd if it were completely her decision. I have no idea and could be completely wrong - just my opinion for what ever that is worth. Either that or she is being very careful not to say who made the decision that she was leaving, her or QVC.
She never stated on air she was not happy Claire Watts left. Plus, the verbiage she used ...when the decision was made that I was leaving the company"...doesn't make me think she didn't leave on her own accord. That could just me she made the decision.
I don't for one second think QVC asked her to leave. They may not have wanted to up her salary, and they may not have met comparable negotiations, but they didn't dump her.
We are all replaceable, and I know that. But, Lisa was a top seller, she was professional, she was given all the high-profile shows, and I don't see any reason why QVC would dump her unless she wanted far too much money. Then and only then, imo, would they not continue her contract.
WOW! Is this a paper back novel?????

Lisa stated on the GMA interview that she had a long list of reasons as to why she left, the stalking situation only one part of it. I don't think we need to know or will ever know those reasons, and let's just wish her godspeed in her new journeys. It was a career change. End of story.

I wonder if Lisa was offered a buyout because it seems like qvc loses a major host at the end of each year.
Most of the articles I've read about qvc seem to indicate that qvc focuses on its numbers. They might have ran their numbers and thought they could make the same profit by paying someone else less than Lisa even though she is so popular. And Cosmic1 I never read that part of her blog so thanks for posting it but when I read when the decision was made that I was leaving the company, I have to agree it does sound odd but maybe I am reading too much into it also.

I found that wording odd as well when I read it. To me it seems like it was a mutual agreement that she would leave because QVC and Lisa could not come to terms. I think she put in many more hours than we realize. So maybe she wanted a cut of the GILI sales, or a higher base salary, or less on-air-time, or more time off, or whatever. I doubt there was a "buy out" if she just left when her contract had expired. We will never know and really it is none of our business. But we do know that QVC is all about the profit (as many companies are, not that there is anything too terribly wrong with that), so maybe QVC was not willing to make concessions to keep her on board. I am glad for Lisa that she is free to enjoy her success and explore other options. Life is too short and she was stuck in that studio long enough.

I watched that on YouTube this afternoon and it was a lovely interview. I always liked Lisa, but I like her better now. And this is the first time I have posted about Lisa since she left. I have not participated in any of the other threads.
I also took a look at some of the bloopers over the years and they are very entertaining.

I was at a wedding in New York City this past weekend. One of my college acquaintances works for QVC in a management position. I asked about Lisa R leaving QVC. She confirmed that QVC was sorry that she made the personal decision to leave, but Lisa R wanted a change after almost 25 years. She also confirmed that Lisa R was one of their top performers. Her contract would certainly been renewed.
