I have programmed my TV channel  selector to skip over all of the shopping channels, even the Q.  Makes watching  so much easier, and less "all about spend, spend, spend."

I do enjoy this online community chat, though.  Lots of kindred spirits.

I rarely sit and watch the Q any more simply because the offerings and presentations by the hosts are so annoying. I seem to always need something though, and I like home shopping. I feel most comfortable shopping at the Q and will continue, although I do buy artisan jewelry and some clothes from Evine.

I remember the Q's TSV's. They used to be so tempting, I had to stop myself thinking I can't buy one every day! Now, the TSV's are so unremarkable. I can't remember the last one I've bought. And it's not b/c I'm not buying. I'm still buying. I still have money. I still like shopping. But the same products continuously being sold is just mind numbing. It's like Groundhog Day.

Cyber Monday, I bought two gifts @ 30% off free S&H. I had offers from everywhere. My mailbox was unbelievable with offers that are hard to refuse. And then today, many just extended their Cyber Monday. I haven't bought one Christmas present from the Q this year.

Increasingly, I have tuned out of all shopping channels.  Many years ago, it seemed more fun, entertaining and convenient.

Over time, the programming/hosts/selling have gotten more irritating than not, and I've "changed the channel."

Now and then, I check in and find it's only gotten worse.

I flipped past Q the other day to find they were selling flashlights they've been selling for maybe ten years.  Then, on to HSN and they were screeching about buying a 5 box set of candy and "splitting it up into 5 or more gifts."

No thanks to both and much else of what they offer.

The thrill is definetly gone -- but I'm saving lots of money!

I agree, the thrill is gone and the entire home shopping formula employed by QVC and HSN has grown so stale it's virtually moldy. It might still be working for them at some level, though I don't think either of them posted impressive numbers recently, but at some point, someone is going to need to reinvent the home shopping approach or one day they'll realize there aren't many 'valued customers' left who are watching, or buying.

ITA about the same repetitive boring products over and over again but the fact remains that someone is buying this stuff or they wouldn't keep selling it.  Anyone want to fess up to having purchased those flashlights for all their family, friend and neighbor's??

I've done the same thing.  Take a look, nope, nothing to see here and I move along.  I did watch some of evine and hsn over the long weekend.

heck even the new arrivals category online has little that interests me.  I realize that everyone is different and looking for different things but if QVC wants my $ they need to have a way to get me to stop and look.  The "gift show" stuff never draws me in because it is the same items they show all year w/o much pricing difference and most of those items are not things I would buy for gifts.

Lol.  Every dang show will have the word "Gift" in the title, from now 'til Christmas and it's just the same ol' stuff they've been selling forever.  Like we are stupid or something. Like we can't figure out that these items can be given as gifts.  I always get a kick out of that.

I posted elsewhere that QVC should be embarrassed about their Cyber Monday offerings.  Every website I purchased from had free s/h and a good percentage off.  Black Friday I bought from a couple of sites that didn't have the greatest percentage off but the s/h was free and they are items that are NEVER discounted so 15%-25% are better than nothing and better than what Q was offering.

When gold prices went through the roof a few years back, everything changed, esp. with QVC jewelry and programming.  I also remember all the jewelry shows that were quality 14k gold and sterling silver and how about GEM STONES.  I really miss those days.  Now clothing and electronics are so cheap to produce and easy to make a profit.  Maybe one day the jewelry days will return, maybe.

And yet, QVC does phenomenally well and keeps increasing total sales, customer acquisition and has a much envied customer retention rate.  They are also dominating globally with channels in various countries.

Lots of people are watching and purchasing.

I agree with most of you and find it all puzzling.  But I must not represent their average customer.  I don't find QVC to be competitive with other electronic and b&m retailers for the reasons already mentioned.

@Lipstickdiva -- you are so right. I thought the same thing. I had good offers from a lot of retailers w/free shipping. Q is not competitive in that area.
