Re: Kudos to Terri Conn

[ Edited ]

@longtimeqvcwatcher.  I think anyone who can have a genuine  friendship with somebody like Snoop Dogg cannot be snobby but is an individualist with her own unique personality and interests.

Terri knows she has to get along with and somehow relate to all vendors.  Martha just seemed bored and disintetested; she wasn't mean or nasty.  Terri did a good job.

The whole Snoop and Martha act is just that: an act. It gets attention and makes money. I find it fake on both of them.

Wrong is still wrong just because you benefited from it.

Oh...I don't know about Martha.... I don't know what it is, it may appear to be snobbery but I do not think it is. I think it's her age and...anyone that I have ever known that is super creative, super smart, always working, pushing themselves to succeed and be above the rest, there seems to be a different sort of way of thinking or a price to be paid, so to speak, in other aspects of their personality. Just my humble opinion.

I was checking out a top from Martha Stewarts line and there was Courtney K trying to get a word out of Martha. Martha seemed beyond bored, and definitely didn't want to engage. There were many pauses as Courtney had to gather herself as Martha didn't respond.

I think Martha is probably universally rude to all the hosts depending on how she feels.

I work in the high end art market. I see many wealthy older women who come in that are curmudgeony. They seem annoyed and tired. Many are on vacation yet seem like it is all to much. Why do they put themselves out there when they need to take a nap? Personally I love a good nap.

At 84, Martha is at her best when she is well rested, and doing what she loves to do. Selling is not something she is fond of doing. Yet she won't stop until there is no interest in her. She comes from a line of hard workers, and it shows.

Maybe Martha's not feeling so great.  As we get older little aches and pains creep up on many of us and when that happens to me it can make me a bit less pleasant.

I have noticed lately she has to sit to get through the show.

I agree that Terri did a great job!  I think she's in my top five  favorite hosts and I have noticed that she's been on a lot more this past year.

@longtimeqvcwatcher I could not agree with you more.  I too saw the presetation with Martha and Terri Conn.  Terri did an excellent job and Martha appeared like she could not be bothered, disinterested, (and dare say) seemed sedated.  She seemed only interested in selling her new book, "The Martha Way", also on the website.

Martha is always aloof and adds nothing to the presentations. I've seen her w several hosts, all very friendly and professional. Martha is a snobby bore.

I did not see the particular show that this post is about, but I always enjoyed the original Martha Stewart Show when it was on years ago.  In fact, I recorded many of them and still like to watch them today.  However, as much as I enjoyed her shows I always said I wouldn't like to have her as a neighbor.

Even back them I could see her aloofness.  I used to enjoy when she had Marc Marrone on with the animals from his pet store. Many times I saw her get snippy with him.  I think she can be very nice but just as quickly get condescending with someone she feels is beneath her.  And in Martha's world that is many people.

I wonder why she has the need to sell on QVC. Anyone have any ideas?

To target a shopping audience in the 50+ age group is my guess. @Janey2
