Soooo how many people do you think you could draw in to hear you speak?
Hmm. Not sure. I would have to be more narcissistic and desirous of spouting my perceived but unearned "expertise" to the masses. Thankfully, we will never find out because that's not remotely my personality.

A lot of these QVC hosts are full of themselves. They believe they have a bigger following than they actually do. If they focused on one thing that they could actually bring credibility to they might actually succeed. Instead they are all over the place with their "manifestations" of countless projects and products.

In a way, I feel sorry for them. They are led to believe they are a type of pseudocelebrity because they are on camera and likely get recognized on occasion. But it's a very specific and small audience, in the scheme of things.
So they leave and only have a certain skillset for selling stuff on television. What does one do with that out in the real world where most people work 8,10,12,16 hour days, 40-80 hour weeks and actually truly LABOR for a living?
Thus, I can see the temptation and understand the tension between their limited capabilities and their need to make a living. It's unfortunate, to be out of a job in middle age, but lots of people go back to school in their forties and even their fifties. I worked with a physician who went to medical school when she was fifty. She was a rock star!
There is no shame in starting over. Perhaps some of the former hosts might be more successful if they would stop cutting corners and pursue an entirely new profession. At least that would be more noble than becoming a snake-oil salesperson or a charlatan.

😂 I hardly call QVC a small audience.
There are famous people that aren’t in the public’s eye as much as a QVC Host is.
Ie. Yesterday Denim & Company sold over 75,000 of their TSV. That’s 75,000 X $49.98 🤓
If you still believe QVC has a small audience …
I have a bridge I’ll sell ya ! 🤪
The audience is specialized though. It only appeals to a certain subset of people and the rest of the population couldn't care less about the hosts. And the subset of people who watch, even if it's 75,000 or a million, are obviously not following the hosts into their post-QVC lives, otherwise, they would show up for Kerstin's speaking engagements in droves. She gets mostly double-digit views on her podcast and only has 5000 subscribers to her Youtube channel.
Real influencers who actually make money (but STILL would barely be recognized by most people) have hundreds of thousands of followers and millions of views on their podcasts.
Surely, you can't be saying you believe Kerstin's popularity is similar to an A-list celebrity? I think she might delude herself into believing that, and Jen might try to manifest it, but neither would be correct.
There are indeed minor, local celebrities in every community. I would characterize a QVC host in that category. Even the more popular ones are not likely to be recognized out on the streets of New York City, and especially not by many people from Gen Z or later.

Just saw her in a commercial for one of those “redo your shower” ads. Forgot the company name already. One the one hand, she did a nice job - enthusiastic and nice looking. One the other hand, I was not really a fan of hers on QVC and I don’t want to see her in commercials. These ex host never seem to go away!
What a cranky complainer.

75,000 pairs of pants averages to 1,500 per state. Now of course probably a small percentage of QVC customers actually bought the pants. But looking at 1,500 per state is a lot less impressive in my opinion.
