I don't think QVC shipping and return fees are out of line at all.  I find them to be comparable to other online retailers, and cheaper than several.

Even those that offer "free" shipping and returns have conditions applied to them.

@geezeretteYou are not even close on this one. QVC has one of the highest shipping rates! As for conditions on free shipping you are correct. You usually have to spend $50-$75. I don't know about you, but I spend that and more, so free shipping is great for me.

@Sunniegirl

We refer to this as QVC's "try me fee". It's all spelled out on the QVC website

Basically you pay for the return label and lose your original shipping fee

Bottom line...QVC shipping charges are a rip off, nobody likes it and yet everyone continues to purchase from them.

I guess that's why they don't break it down any where.  I didn't know that either.  Is it standard practice??

Re: Just learned that you get charged twice on return shipping fees..........

@geezerette What other retailers charge these ridiculous shipping and return fees that you are also shopping at?  I shop at MANY online retailers and have never had to pay anything comparable to what QVC charges for initial shipping or returns.

I'm sure I would make more purchases from QVC if they had a more customer-friendly return policy, but I'm not going to spend over $10 just to try on a clothing item for example!

I just did a live chat with CS inquiring about a return on an item.  I did use their label because it was cheaper than if I had paid....  but when I looked at my credit of $.54 cents.. (Also, on view of the item, nothing was broken down on how the $.54 was calculated) I was confused...  So, in doing a live chat, I found out that you are charged for the original shipping which I get, but you are also charged again the $3.50 shipping/handling charge, plus their $6.95 shipping charge??  So overall, I paid $13.95 for a return of the item...  Maybe a lot of you knew this, but I didn't..  I don't have many returns, but now after finding this out.....  I will be so much more aware..  shame on me for not catching this sooner, but I wanted to pass this on......   WOW, is all I can say..............  Shame on the Q for such outrageous fees........... So be  aware....  Now I understand when posts would say it cost more to return an item..   I didn't understand, but now I do........

@Sunniegirl

I have to ask ... what kind of item did you return ... and what was the total weight?

For several years now, I usually print up a first class with tracking postage label on Paypal, insurance optional, and it's significantly better pricing.

Of course, I no longer buy heavy things from QVC .... just beauty products, jewelry or lightweight fleece tops in the past few years.

Obviously depends on whether you can print your own labels, etc etc, but the $6.95 label is also a  rip-off .... JMO

I know it means missing out on things but I only order from places that have free shipping free returns. Plus, Kohls gives you Kohls Cash fir ordering online and picking up at the store. Many items I get from Amazon too with the same shipping “perk”.
