Re: Jane - tone down your eye makeup

Since I am a male, I do not wear makeup and but yes i would want to know if I had a look that was unattractive.  YET....there is a way to tell a person without making it public.  I truly did not read all the posts as I was looking to see if anyone had some rave reviews for a hair shampoo when I ran across this .  Having many women in my life I love dearly, I would not want them to read on a fourm they had a day they looked bad.  Just the opinion of a man that did see Jane when my daughters were watching a jewelry show, No offense to anyone here as I know you mean no harm, but words can hurt even adults.  It is nice you want to give advice but it should really be done by private message on FB in my opinion.   I hope I have not made anyone upset but since I value my girls feelings so much, this was a touchy subject for me.   Happy weekend.

I thought she looked great. All in black to show the metallic colors of the jewelry she was showing. Just one other opinion.

Look - lets get  real here -  I am trying to help her - she looks terrible with all that eye makeup and if you dont think so then you are probably wearing too much eye makeup - I think Jane is a beautiful, classy lady who is wearing too much eye makeup - get it?  I am not mean or rude - you are wrong

Bull.  If you really were trying to help her, you wouldn't post this here.  In addition, just what makes your opinion the be all and end all?  Your meanness is only exceeded by your arrogance IMHO.

Let's get real here- you are just one opinion so although you may think she looks terrible, many others may not. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean she should change.

I find it funny how some people think their opinion should be taken as "the" authority on how someone looks and what they wear. It is actually very egotistical and narcissitic.

Re: Jane - tone down your eye makeup

I too think your post is rude!  You are the type of person that doesn't have the guts to say anything to anyone's face so you use these forums and blogs to be just plain rude.  For the love of God people...before you post these cowardly, rude comments, ask yourself what I am I trying to accomplish?  Is this comment uplifting, encouraging,  supportive, educating, etc.  Do you really think you are going to change Jane's life and others lives if Jane "tones down her eye makeup"?  Will you feel better if you know that Jane has read your petty comment and you have succeeded in hurting her feelings?  I really don't get it.  Are you bored?  Unhappy?  Jealous? Petty? All the above?  Please think about your actions and most importantly your true intentions when you post just rude comments.

P.S. I actuallly stumbled upon this thread when I put in Jane Treacy's name in the search box on QVC because I was looking for a recipe she posted long ago for Spaghetti Sauce that her father use to make.  Why don't you check out.  Make your family a warm meal. Do something constructive!

Dad's Italian Supper

Ingredients:

3 lbs baby baked ribs
1 lb Italian sausage (hot or sweet)

2 hard-boiled eggs
Chicken legs (one per person!)
28 oz tomato sauce
Fresh basil, about 4 leaves
Salt and pepper
1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp Italian seasoning

Directions:

In a large skillet with a little olive oil, brown the baby back ribs and cut into individual portions. Brown the sausage and chicken legs. Add to large Crock-Pot with the sauce, seasonings, sugar, and fresh basil. Next, add the cooked hard-boiled eggs. Cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 8. (You can also add your favorite meatball recipe to this, browning the meatballs before adding to the sauce. You may also need more than one Crock-Pot or you can just divide everything in half.)

Serve with fresh spaghetti cooked al dente, a salad to start off with, and crusty Italian bread. The sauce is amazing–so make enough for leftovers! The eggs are a family tradition. We used to fight over them, so you can add more if you want. Enjoy!

Re: Jane - tone down your eye makeup

I don't usually get involved in these threads, but I took a look and thought she looked quite nice, if this is from the evening shows referenced by the OP:

Just a general comment, but I think people sometimes find it easier to pick apart others' perceived "faults" than to be self-aware and honest about our own shortcomings.

Oh please.  It is simpy Jane bashing and mean.  Probably just to get a rise from people and stir the pot here too.

Aren't you glad you don't have friends like this?  Really!
