If there is an offer that I want to take advantage of, I install the App, buy the item, then uninstall the App.

I don't think it is right to offer these discounts to certain customers.  Since their earnings are down, I would think they would want to make as many sales as possible. Personally, I don't want to use the app, so I lose out on the discount.

I've noticed that the Q is really pushing using their app by offering savings to app users only.  I have no interest in being tracked by using the app.  Personally I don't feel it is fair to offer savings to app users only.  What do you think about non-app users being left out of savings?

@Biftu It is retail.  You have the choice not to buy, and buy elsewhere.  I don't know how you make anything like that fair.  Life isn't fair, so be happy and do the best you can for you and forget about.  Things like that happen all the time.

It isn't a right, it's just retail.

@Sooner  You make it fair by offering the savings to all customers not just those willing to use their app.  I get that I don't need to buy, just question the fairness whether life is fair or not.

@Biftu I don't think that falls under "fair."  It's just a promotion from a retail outlet.  We aren't entitled to a promotion aimed at us specifically, so my answer is fair doesn't apply in situations like that.  We aren't entitled to all promotions applying to us.

Can be tracked ordering online or can be tracked ordering on app.  I think it would be funny to do both and befuddle them 😂

@Ronettes  Right.  It seems everyone, as you said, wants to track our every move.  Woman Frustrated

I think companies press their apps because they are more stable and easier to maintain. There have been times I have not been able to sign onto main QVC site,  but have been able to sign onto the QVC app. That made me wonder if that's the reason they steer people to their app, The regular site is so glitchy and requires constant maintenance..

@Sooner  Ok you don't agree with the word "fair."  How about preferential treatment.  Obviously companies can do as they please.

@Biftu   I almost posted the same thing. I don't want to be tracked...as you said...not fair to non-app users.  Their loss. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Mombo1  You are being tracked right now.

Preferential treatment has been around for ages.

How about online only sales, in-store only sales, limited time only sales, free shipping over $XX, first XX number of people get a prize...and on and on.

All those things could be considered "preferential treatment" since not everyone would be able to meet the criteria.  It's just moved into the digital area now too.

Re: Is It Fair?

[ Edited ]

It's neither fair or unfair.  It's their business and they can operate it however they want to.  It's also the customer's choice if they want to avail themselves of using an app or not, but by doing so they accept the terms, which means getting perks or not.  I am not a techy by any means.  For me, it's easier to shop and post here through the browser than by using the app so I might miss out sometimes.  That's life.  Get over it.
