I've noticed that the Q is really pushing using their app by offering savings to app users only.  I have no interest in being tracked by using the app.  Personally I don't feel it is fair to offer savings to app users only.  What do you think about non-app users being left out of savings?

HSN has done this also.  I used the app once or twice and then delete it from my phone after each purchase.

It really irritates me but I just buy elsewhere if I find a lower price. I refuse to use buy in a way that I do not want to use.

ALL the outlets are using this feature now, even ebay.

I also refuse to use it for as long as possible, I don't feel comfortable being pestered with texts all day long every day also.

And I don't feel it's fair either, but I use the coupons offered, sale days, free shipping days, 'as is', etc.

Everyone wants all our information.

@Biftu It is retail.  You have the choice not to buy, and buy elsewhere.  I don't know how you make anything like that fair.  Life isn't fair, so be happy and do the best you can for you and forget about.  Things like that happen all the time.

It isn't a right, it's just retail.

Fair?  I guess that's one of those things that's in the eye of the beholder.

Common?  Definitely.

All the businesses I use that have an app do push me to use them and often offer incentives only available through their app.  I can choose to participate--or not.

ETA: The same argument can be made (and often is) about the QCard too.

@Biftu   I almost posted the same thing. I don't want to be tracked...as you said...not fair to non-app users.  Their loss. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have a friend that has a track phone that she uses for this type of thing. But my issue is that I do not want my credit card going to anyone via a cell phone, nor do I want it stored on a phone.

@Sooner  You make it fair by offering the savings to all customers not just those willing to use their app.  I get that I don't need to buy, just question the fairness whether life is fair or not.

Yes, it's very fair in my opinion.

Everyone has the ability and option to use the app.

If you decide not to, that's your decision.  You decided to not use the app;  QVC had no part in that decision.   It's no different than perks and benefits only for a store cardholder.  If I decide to not have a store branded card, I acknowledge that I forgo certain benefits.  Personally, I like "app only" promotions and offers.
