Interesting Host Roles -- January 2026

[ Edited ]

I see some shows feature interesting host roles lately.

Mary DeAngelis was the social media/testimonial call person for I believe it was Amy Stran's show recently last week.

This morning Pat Dementri is the social media host for Rick's 9:00am show.

This isn't co-hosting, they are just taking calls and answering social media questions while the primary host goes through their entire show.  Rick just explained it as Pat then ran to the side to take the calls.

Of course shows had new-host social media positions before.  But this month is the first time I've seen seasoned hosts go to the side as just social media/call hosts.

I just saw Pat behind all those controls on Rick's show. It looks like they are making the best of maybe limited staffing during this snowstorm. It's fun to watch!

@PA Mom-mom  It is fun to watch.  That may be it indeed.

Except Mary did it before the storm was near, it was a few days ago.

I posted this on another thread but I heard Rick say a few days ago that some of the hosts would be staying in hotels in the area due to the storm.

@Estellee   Yes, a lot of the hosts are staying very close by in hotels.  But to work the testimonial calls seems a reason not really related.

Not every show has testimonial calls or social media hosts.  Pat could have just gone back to her hotel room, instead of taking the one call that made it onto Rick's show.

I know, it's not important at all. Smiley Happy

I wonder why they are in hotels instead of the corporate housing. I suppose the hotels are full service with dining, housekeeping......

Corporate housing is probably still occupied by the HSN hosts who haven't made the permanent move to Pennsylvania yet.

I think that a number still fall into that category according to their social media.

First I've ever heard of QVC "corporate housing".  We know they have this?
