@tynabean.  I must say I disagree with your assessment.  I order mostly clothing, and most things are shipping in about 24 hours.  The longest shipping time recently has been 3 days.  I find this quite acceptable...and for only $3.50 s&h.

I also ordered on free shipping last weekend.  My two orders are still in transit, but no problem.  I have come to expect 10 days to get here.  Sometimes more or less.

I’m just saying QVC doesn’t compare to what is the norm out there now, so I can see why they are having problems. Consumers can get things faster, which many want, and many places offer free shipping all the time. It seems to me that QVC’s focus is only on the selling part, trying modern antics, but the consumer has to be happy with much more than that to remain a customer. The shipping is inconsistent at best, many things are boring and overpriced for the quality, and the return process is more difficult than most.

@tynabean - I think QVC has improved the return process a lot.  The last couple of times I had to return something, I packed it up, took it to the post office with the QR code.

They scanned the code, printed out and affixed the label, and gave me a receipt.

I had my refund as soon as it was logged into the system as on its way.

I also had good luck with an exchange this way.  Entered the return info online, did a chat with a CS rep about a replacement and she set up the order straightaway.  It was important because there was only one of the shirt I wanted left in inventory.  I got the replacement pretty quickly.

For me the most interesting comparison is how other retailers seem to want and court my business, while I've always gotten the vibe from QVC that they are doing me a favor by letting me shop there.  I make my own jewelry so I shop at a lot of bead/jewelry sites, which I understand is a niche business, but still, there are huge differences.  I never have gotten mailed or emailed coupons from QVC, and the ones offered for general use are often restricted to the point of being useless.  I clearly am not a 'select QVC customer'.  Meanwhile, all the other clothing and jewelry and bead sites give me points toward purchases (free loyalty programs), thank me for my orders, I get personal emails and hand written notes on my receipts. Birthday greetings and freebies for my birthday month.

Again, I understand that this is my personal experience, and that an online bead store is not the behemoth that QVC is.  I just know that those businesses make me feel welcome and happy to spend my money there.

Re: Interesting ComparisonBo

@San Antonio Gal , thanks, I was making an exchange, not a return, and it was the first time in a long time I made an exchange.

I think 7-10 days delivery for forty years is time for a change.
