They can fill the audience with employees if there are ""no shows""

Sorry, but I really hate the live shows. When they scan the audience I see mostly bored looking husbands who are not smiling at all and look like they would rather be anywhere else but there and a lot of extremely obese women. Add that to David's moronic happy dance and I cannot hit the remote fast enough.

There aren't usually many - or any - men in the audience. But when there are, I always wonder what the wife had to promise to get them there.

And, as an 80 year old, I think I'm safe in saying the audiences on many of the shows are most often older women. They probably love that childish Happy Dance. It's one of many reasons I don't watch ITKWKD. Thank goodness for a remote when you need it.
As for the men, they all look both bored and embarrassed.
