@Othereeeen wrote:I doubt QVC will change this policy now that it's in effect...I bet they got THOUSANDS of new first time customers if the ONE show I saw with David, a few hours long, and he ended with 4700 new customers.
If that was a three hour show , thats about 1560 new customers per hour or 38000 per day.
Two days of the weekend that's 76000 new first time shoppers.
If each spends 75.00 thats 2.9 million dollars in sales .
QVC goes to 20,000 homes on cable, streams also, you tube shows...think of the exposure!
Somehow I don't think what several hundred posters here harumphing about is going to make a bit of difference.
I could be wrong. But QVC learned when they wanted to shut down these boards.
People still shopped on QVC and HSN.
That's ALL they really care about. The
These boards are just a lot of hoo ha and a place to get customers TO the website, where presumeably they will shop and BUY!!!!
Looking at the actual numbers via Qurates presentation to Stockholders for the entire 2nd Quarter 2022 APRIL/MAY/JUNE---The total NEW customers for Qurate was actually 2,191,000 for the quarter. New customers only amounted to 5% of QVC purchases for the entire year. 6% in sales are re-activated customers 2,118,000 that had been inactive and returned to QVC.
In contrast, the 5,166,000 existing customers amounted to 89% of all sales, the average existing customer purchased 28 items for the year, and the average spent was $1,400 for the full year.--- And remember QVC prices can vary per item from a $14.95 kitchen spoon rest to a $19.98 Spurtle set to high ticket items like mattresses for $1,999,98 Cal King to $2,035 for a mobility scooter...and everything in between.
For the 2nd Quarter 2022 ---Revenues were 3.0 billion a decrease of 12% for the QxH Division (QVC/HSN) and overall incorporating all Qurate Companies (Cornerstone, International, Zulilly etc) there was a decrease of 16% sales/revenues

@Spurt Those numbers are more than interesting. I'm not a mathematician, but looks like Q may have shot themselves in the foot with this latest "deal".

The heart of QVC is their existing customer base.
Im just wondering if this campaign is part of the strategy QVC talked about in trying to attract a younger demographic........

I edited my post...I thought I wrote 20 MILLION homes....anyway...fixed it!
My numbers may be off still, but you guys get the drift...
Now they give the "number of people" on QVC.COM in some shows, in real time...
It's a LOT of people!!

Good catch...I edited my original note....I know it's a LOT of customers!!!
No matter how many, I bet the don't end this promo....they'll just bring something out for
"Existing" customers in all likelihood....
Good thing we have LOTS of alternatives to QVC!!! ( Which is part of thier problem.....)

Your right, they now talk about the people currently accessing QVC.COM, and its a lot of people. But I find it a bit unclear----
Are they on the Forums? Are they actually ordering?, browsing?, Checking on the processing/shipping status of a current order?...Checking on their order balance? ... Now the people they mention on the phone lines are the actual ones trying to make that purchase....
Have a good evening

@Spurt If they're accessing qvc.com, they must be doing any or all of the things you listed. The only way they could prove people were buying is if they actually made a purchase.

I have been a loyal customer since 1991. My husband often asks if I have checked Amazon for the item I am currently ordering. My answer to that is always no... I love QVC. I have ordered thousands of dollars of items since 1991.
I have read that viewers will forget...I will not forget. I feel totally unappreciated by a company that has thrown me to the curb. For the most part, my shopping here is over.
I was going to order a furniture item of considerable cost but checked Amazon...which I would have never thought to (okay, I am loyal to a fault)....and the item is less money with free shipping.
I do think QVC may have awakened a sleeping giant...their customer base. There are many of us who will not forget.

Has anyone thought about if some of us discontinue our purchases because of not being treated as equally as new customers what will become of these forums?
Will they continue if we're not discussing what's going on Q, what we bought, like or disliked, hosts, etc....especially if we're also no longer watching either?
