I ordered a really nice big tote of Vera Bradley for only $39. and two outfits for my grandson.   Ordered on April 5.    Expected to receive  April 24!!!!

Are you kidding me.   Does everything take this long from Zulily?  If it does this is my first and last order.

Has anyone else ordered from Zulily and had this happened?

I won't buy from them because the shipping time is RIDICULOUS. I've found MUCH better deals for the same items on other websites, many of them with FREE shipping.

I do not understand why people place orders from sites which provide estimated delivery dates, confirm the order, and then proceed to complain about the deliery dates.

If the delivery time is an issue, do not place the order, shop elsewhere.  You go into it with your eyes wide open; there is no deceit on the retailer's part.

makes no sense to me either. It isn't like you are placing an order in a vaccuum- they TELL you an estimate a date of ETA- don't like it, don't place the order. simple

You can check out their "Ready to ship" category if you want to find a good deal that will get to you in a reasonable amount of time, but the new daily events do tend to take ages to arrive. Reminds me of when I was a kid and things you'd see on TV or in magazines would take 6-8 weeks to deliver.

As for the overall Zulily experience, I've bought some really good things and was very pleased with my first customer-service experience. But now that the same problem has happened again (which I'll describe below) and they were much less accomodating this time around, I feel like they think I'm this difficult customer or something, and it's frustrating.

First problem: Also ordered a VB bag (Tutti Frutti weekender) - the one that came was NOT the one pictured, but the pared-down outlet version of the weekender (with two rather cheap-looking outside pockets rather than the one large zip pocket, and solid instead of printed lining). I took pictures and complained, politely, that this was not the style I wanted, and they paid for me to ship it back and refunded me (though the refund took FOREVER, and I only got it after I bugged them about it - the "inspection" of the item took a month or something). They did give me a $15 credit, so at least there's that.

Now, it's happened again, only with another brand: Italian leather bag I ordered did not have the seam going down the front and back that was pictured, AND it was some 4 inches smaller than the dimensions listed! It was way too small for what I had in mind, so, again, I sent them pictures. They apologized and gave me lots of buttkissing (I really don't need to be told what a "joy" it is to serve me - please just quickly and politely handle the issue), but said I would only get a store credit. When I called them out and said that the last time there was an issue, they offered me an actual refund, and $96 is a lot of money to just get redeemed in store credit, the one rep actually kind of shamed me and said I had the option of a refund (which the other rep did NOT tell me), but now it's too late. Like I made my bed, so now I need to lie in it! So I just complained some more and said no one ever told me what my options were, and finally one of them said they would make an exception and refund me.

So, lessons: A. Can't always trust their pictures/descriptions, unfortunately. It helps if it's a well-known brand so you can research the product on other sites, but that didn't make a difference with my VB fiasco, B. The customer service really just depends on what representative you get. It seems like it's basically up to them what to do (and you get a different one with each new email, so just keep complaining until you get one who is fair).

I hate to be a pest, but they should not get away with having customers stuck with expensive products that are blatantly different than advertised.

A very articulate explanation of the problems you encountered. I have never looked at the website and now will probably keep it that way. Thank you.

@suzyQ3 Thanks! I forgot to mention that I ordered another VB item, and it was also the "outlet" version, which was not what was pictured. That time, I didn't mind and actually kind of liked the more minimalist look (double-zip backpack without the stripe going down the front), but it's still disturbing that Zulily is so inattentive to detail. Since then, I've come to the conclusion (though I don't know for sure) that all of their Vera products must be the outlet versions, so buyer beware (again, sometimes I like the look of the outlet version better, but then you also have to wonder whether that means it's not as high-quality. I've never really understood why VB does outlet versions of their styles, so it kind of seems like it would be to cut a few corners and save some money).

Yes, Zulilly takes that long.  Most of the time, they offer deals for a period of time and at the end of time, they ship everyone's orders out.  You can get some good deals but you have to be patient.

In the past, everything I ordered from Zulily took fooorever to get. But since QVC bought them out, things seem to ship faster. Also, everything used to be no returns, but the last couple items I received had return instructions if not satisfied. QVC may be changing things up to conform to their model.

I love Zulily!  Yes, delivery is slow, but the prices make that worth it.  They do accept returns!  You have to call them and they explain how to do it.  But you can't exchange for a different size, due to it being a flash sale.  I called them about 2 bras that didn't fit.  They explained that they don't accept bra returns, but they credited my account for the price of the bras and said to just keep them.  I'm very satisfied with their customer service.
