I liked Viewpoints.  It was a good "catch-all" section where you didn't have to decide where to put a topic.  And a wide variety of items were posted.  

I think shortly after there were those incidents where "invaders" were posting tons of those nasty, dirty posts and it necessitated the Q closing down the forum for the early morning hours for some time, and they had to make some adjustments, they just decided to change the whole format.  And sadly, they made a lot of changes which the majority of us don't care for at all. And losing the Viewpoints section was just one of them.

Don't count on it, Big Sister. After they went through all this trouble to install a new system, I don't expect they'll be bringing back the old one. 

That's like throwing out an old couch, buying a new one, and then searching for the old couch because you don't like the new one.

There isn't a forum area called Viewpoints any longer because QVC now does not allow conversations on topics like religion or politics, and highly discourages threads that have high potential to turn contentious and insulting - much of which occurred in the forum called Viewpoints.

"You" (the figurative "you") might not have been rude to other posters, but many were and the area was full of catfights.

Community Chat is where posters have elected to post some Viewpoints-like threads, but bashing threads and posts/threads that degenerate to insults and bashing are removed.

The very nature of a Viewpoints forum is to express differing opinions, so it stands to reason that threads would more often turn contentious.  However, I have never seen more disgraceful catfighting and bashing on the old main Community page and particularly in the Beauty and Fashion forums.   I don't know if that is still the case as I no longer spend much time here.  Frankly, I don't care to even find out.

ETA:  I am not into personal insults and bashing, but I would much rather see spirited discussion over this milquetoast board and QVC has certainly squelched that here.

I miss viewpoints precisely because of the elimination of interesting topics, including politics and religion. Any intelligent person can state point of view without being belligerent and unkind.
