We purchased a humidifier about two weeks ago and sent it back yesterday.
While we had it, we followed directions which told us to add salt to varying degrees to the water. The instructions also said that if we added too much, then we might blow a fuse.
After trying the two different amounts (1/16th tspn. or two 1/16th tspns.) at different times and then finally water only....we blew a fuse three times.
I submitted a review and received an email this evening telling me why it couldn't be posted. Two possible reasons were given: either it was a service problem and not a product problem OR the review was about another product.
We believe it's a product problem and have never heard of adding salt to a humidifier. Now we'll be looking at good ol' vaporizers.
