@MalteseMomma I have heard that they use other delivery options like uber, do you have a warehouse near you?  We have one about 2 hours away, and it always delivered by UPS or USPS, but I have heard what you have experienced, and I do not know if it is true that they use other delivery options, but several people have told me that they do?  I enjoy  the two day option, and am thrilled with that!

I have Amazon prime and I also live near a warehouse so I get orders super fast also.

By chance is a warehouse near you???

I buy a lot on amazon, easy to find items, saves going from store to store, right at my door, you can't beat it.  Plus I don't drive so it allows me to be independent and not have to ask hubby to take my everywhere, I can get things on my own.

I don't live close to one of their warehouses; however, I have gotten so many surprises at their fast delivery system, that I am, like, "where ARE they" if it isn't two days! ha!

I kept suspecting that they were using drones to deliver my packages because I never saw them drive up with my or walk away. ha! Then one day I happened to be looking out the window and someone in an ordinary looking car with no sign on it get out with my package, left it by the door, and quietly walked to his car and drove away. Even my dogs didn't hear him!

I have had one overnight service, for which I paid a little extra, and it arrived within 12 hours!

According to my mailman, who frequently delivers Amazon items to me, the company plans to open a plant not too far from me. He mentioned it because he said it would really cut down on the post office's huge package deliveries they now do for Amazon. He wasn't sure if that was going to be a good thing for them or not, as it does mean our local post office has to hire extra people to take care of just delivering those packages.

If they do build another facility close to me, considering how fast I get their items now, I will probably get them within five minutes of ordering! LOL!

@MalteseMomma That’s awesome service. I’m just happy when my packages make it to the correct street.

I ordered a text book from Tampa Florida and it was here before noon the next day.

This was before they built the local warehouse!

As soon as an order Is placed, it is sent to the nearest warehouse that carries the product via electronic transfer.

the item goes into a queue and then in receiving order they are sent to individuals who work in the warehouse.  They get the order on a shopping gun and then they pick up the item and scan it in to the gun and put it into a cart.  The timer on the gun tells them how long it should take them to pick up the item and scan it in.  They have to hurry to get it scanned within whatever time is showing on the gun. The gun beeps if the time runs out and the item is not picked and scanned in the allotted time.

The cart is then pushed to packing and shipping and immediately sent via conveyer belt to be packed on the truck. All of this is done in less than an hour and all departments are on the same floor within walking distance.

The warehouse is open 24 hours.  That’s how they get items to you fast.

If a worker cannot do the required amout of work that they are expected to do each day, they are fired. It is a very fast paced environment.

if you live close to a warehouse, you get your items very quickly.  Not all warehouses carry every item Amazon sells.
