How 'Bout Some FREE Shipping!

Why is it QVC rarely ever offers free shipping? Sometimes I think the price on an item sounds good and I consider purchasing it until I see what it totals to after shipping and tax are added on. Then, if it is something that doesn't fit or whatever the case, and I end up having to return it, I am out another shipping fee. Woman Sad

Re: How 'Bout Some FREE Shipping!

Free shipping is certainly a big plus for me when I shop.  Just today, I placed an order with Macy's.  I got 30% off my order and free shipping.  A few weeks ago, I placed an order with Vermont Country Store.  They always offer free shipping if the order is over $65.  I also have been fortunate to get free shipping with Lands End and LL Bean in recent months.  I feel that QVC should offer free shipping all the time, at least after the order reaches a certain amount, say $50 or $65  or even $75 or $100.

I think only once have I ever bought something when they had free shipping.  What's the point when they jack up prices first to pay for it?  In truth, there's no such thing as free shipping.

Kohls and Macy's both have great coupons and free shipping (over 75 dollars). Often times if the sales clerks at Macy's know a 30% sale is coming soon, they'll let you know and hold your purchases until the discount kicks in and then they ship it to your house for free! They're absorbing the shipping cost to "turn" the mdse.

I also think it would be great if it were offered more frequently, but there were two free shipping events in September, so I'm not sure we'll get another one for a little while.

There I believe there was a free shipping day on 9/19.

I ordered 5 items. None had a price increase.  Four items were the same price they had been. One item had been reduced.

@Sapphiregal   I think QVC has free shipping more often than it used too. I remember it used to be on Founder's Day in June but not a lot more than that.  QVC had free shipping less than a month ago; I bought some things and it wasn't a long time before that when there was another day.

I don't think there's such a thing as "free shipping" because the shipping is always added into the price. It would be nice to do as other retailers do and offer free shipping if the order exceeds a certain ceiling amount. What I do not like is adding shipping on to every item. There are many times I'd like to order a few pieces of clothing and the shipping can really add up. Last Christmas season, I ordered three items and they were $5.50 in shipping for all three. The order was well over $100, it would've been nice to at least have only been charged once.

Shipping costs are a big money maker for Q according to their financial reports. As long as people buy and Q makes a profit, they won't change.

Everything Q sells can be found elsewhere, usually with free shipping and returns AND lower prices. I shop where I can get the best price and free shipping/returns.

Re: How 'Bout Some FREE Shipping!

I have so much of so many things from jewelry to shoes, from towels to decorations that anything I am buying is likely a want, not a need.  I rarely want what's on sale at least by the time it's on sale.

Not shopping for 10 months in 2020 forced me to really use what I already had.  I was sort of surprised how easy that part of coping with the pandemic was.  I did shop for a few things early this year, but it's 6 months since I wanted anything not sold at Home Depot or its counterparts.
