I have been reading the negative comments on the Community Page and Facebook about QVC hosts and guests.

I have been with the Q since the 1990’s.  We have to remember this is not a “reality show” or “soap opera” but a shopping channel.

What makes the Q great are the different personalities of the host and guests.

All the hosts and guests work very hard. It is not easy standing on your feet in one place for hours and keeping the show moving smoothly. Anything that looks easy is usually not.

You need energy and a gift of gab.

I think they are all WONDERFUL and I thank each one of them for years of entertainment along with providing quality products. I love the Q!

QVC has become a reality show. Remember, entertainment is the key, and actually featuring products to sell has become secondary.

And look at the results.

Now what's not easy is standing on your feet for eight hours a day, often while doing actual manual labor, like hundreds of thousands do everyday.

@Etoile308  Agree, didn't the head honcho previously state that they want to be entertainment 24/7 365?  I do not believe every host is good at their presentations, that is my opinion.

And as you state, @Etoile308, plenty of people work in warehouses, are clerks, teachers, nurses, construction workers, servers, and many other professions that are actually very physically, and in some cases very emotionally, hard to do.

While it definitely takes a certain skills set to be a successful host, I doubt that it's very demanding physically, especially compared to other occupations, as pointed out.

After a 2, 3 or 4 hour on-air shift (spent frequently on a couch), the hosts retreat to a dressing room with chairs, desks and other workplace comforts.

Not a bad gig if you're good at it.

Enjoy Q if you want. It's nice that you like it.

After 30++ years, watching is no longer something I enjoy. Many reasons.

I seldom watch it any longer, partly because I just do not need anything and partly just because. I started watching when they took over CVN, I first watched HSN..and loved Bobbi Ray!

I've been watching - and shopping at - QVC since the get-go.  I still enjoy it.  Some hosts more than others - some hosts not so much.  I shop more just by looking at "items recently on air."

That being said I was in a few QVC FB groups that I had to leave.  Just too negative.  It got depressing at times.  People were just too mean.

Walk a Mile in Their Shoes......I keep hearing this many times and I am trying to remember it when someone annoys me. So far, I have not accomplished it but will try.   Happy Monday...

@CalminHeart  I watched Leah's show early this morning for a few minutes which was fine...then the next hour began and Leah had Doris Dalton on as a vendor. Doris began "speed talking" to a point where I had to shut it down.

I then briefly went over to HSN and had the same experience.  The vendor (very well known but her name escapes me) was pushing a smartwatch and, also, was chattering away SO FAST I quickly shut the TV down.

Items the Host is supposed to showcase is  now a

" secondary " since they are all " doing their entertainment gig  or storytelling " .

Tonight , I did not hear nor see that all the  patterns or colors were  presented  individually on the Berkshire PJ's  while Shawn was supposed to be hosting .

Lack of basic info abt an item and too much chatter abt personal  things . Also all that chat abt the airport with Alina , not necessary in showcasing her line .
