Many years ago when I first started working, employees were made to feel obligated to stay later than they should to get the job done, whatever that was. I remember at one job interview, I was informed that if I am told to stay later, then I must stay later. I agreed because I needed the job.
Many years later, still working, we were actually emphatically not allowed to stay any later past the usual end of our time, unless overtime was officially approved by management. Employers now, after lawsuits, I guess, do not want their employees staying later "off the books", for all kinds insurance purposes I suppose. Probably illegal these days.
Myself, personally, even if I loved my job, would not want to work and not get paid for my time, even if it was only an extra 15 minutes.

Yea saw the show with Amy. However, with some shows 2 hrs and some 1 hr and the 4 hrs shows , maybe there has been an occasional time the Hosts need to go because of employment rules of meal and break times. Since it's getting near the end of the year maybe because so many Hosts had to fill in for each other during various illness , they have to use some Compensation time they accrued ?
I don't see an issue as long as the Host tells the product Rep or Designer ahead of time that they have to leave before the end of the show.

Oh wow, how weird wanting to go home after putting your day in at work. Everyone wants to hang around work after hours there, right? 😉

I chuckle when the camera catches David Venable off guard, mostly when a vendor is into thier speil, and he has a very unpleasant expression, if only for a fleeting moment until he catches himself in the monitor, and then the happy happy smile appears again...
He looks bored out of his mind, or that he is thinking when the oil needs to be changed in his car...
Of course, if I had to try to get enthused about Mark Charles' and his set of four snips for the 10,000th time I'd have that face too!!!
Anyone else notice that?
They're people.. who get bored or tired ...I can't imagine a job where you're on camera ..I couldn't keep up the facade at all....

Why would there be the need to hang around at the end of your shift?

@Franklinbell Then you also had to have known that Amy had stayed 20 minutes past the time she was supposed to leave!! She even said something to her husband that she'd be home shortly.

@snipsnapsnur no I was not aware. I was corrected this morning. I apologize for my error and next time I will pay better attention before making comments.

Yes, @Othereeeen I have noticed that with David. I also notice it with Amy. I have a feeling both of them are not as sweet and kind as the persona.
