@ValuSkr - Thanks for sharing that clip. I haven't rolled my eyes so hard in a loonnnng time—what was he thinking? I'm sure he sounds sympathetic to some, but I have to say that I feel the interview made him sound naive and ignorant overall.
And does he really believe someone would want him as their brand ambassador after the way he conducted himself at QVC? He was never, ever prepared for shows (and proud of that), he was always shouting and over the top, completely diverting focus from the item so he could be the center of attention, and in many ways, just plain unprofessional. I know some people enjoyed his looks and his excitement, but he was not good at his job. He did seem like a nice guy, so I hope he finds something that is more suited to his personality, but I can't imagine ever wanting to watch him present items on TV again; I started changing the channel months ago.

Looks like the moderators removed @ValuSkr's live hyperlink (heads up: moderators posted that live links are not allowed, and from what I've seen they've been removing all of them)...
so I'll add the information for those who would like to listen to Thomas Anthony Jones discussing his noncompete clause.
Just search for
"Noncompete clauses could soon be gone under a new federal ban"
on NPR dot org 5/8/24,
"All Things Considered."
Description: "With the federal ban on noncompetes set to take effect in 120 days, workers bound by such agreements are starting to wonder whether they are free to pursue work that they otherwise couldn't do. (3 minute listen)"

Maybe a vendor position next?
I might not be repeating an item number for a while, but it doesn’t have to mean goodbye

Well, here's an interesting update .......
Today I was listening to NPR radio and they started talking about a host on QVC, Thomas Anthony Jones, and his leaving QVC!
Short version .... the best I can recall, not verbatim.
TJ is an actor and looked into joining QVC during the actor's strike. He was hired and signed what all new hosts sign .... a non-compete agreement stating they won't go to work for any vendor that sells on QVC for one year.
TJ said the money wasn't what he thought it would be. He also didn't fully understand what he'd signed, and was talking to Skechers about a job as a brand ambassador ... not realizing he couldn't work for them for a year.
So, if I got this right, he left QVC, and the job he was leaving for is something he can't accept. Hope I got this right.
It was a short blurb on the radio. Anyone have anything to add to this story?

Did you see my post about TJ on the NPR story, directly above/prior to yours?
It has the details for those who want to find and listen to the brief audio clip.😊

@Tinkrbl44 - I think your summary captures some of the key points well. However, TJ left due to being unhappy with the reality versus his perceptions of the job as well as the pay; he mentioned that he thought it might be more his style to be a single brand ambassador rather than a host and cited Skechers as an example of a product he enjoyed that he felt could be a potential fit. But when he realized how a non-compete agreement works, it dawned on him that this wouldn't really be an option for him for at least another year.

Actually, I did look, but I think they were so close in time that you had posted it while I was still writing my comment. That's why I didn't see it until you pointed it out. Thanks!
