I haven't seen him  much but he did "barge in" to Terri Conn's lunchtime show the other day and was acting quite hyper and silly.   Of course it seems to be the new tactic now (or new to me) that they interrupt the main channel host like they are just popping in to say hi (so phoney) and the main channel hosts asks what do you have coming up on Q2??????

It's ridiculous really, tells me the other channel is not very popular.  My You Tube doesn't even carry it.

I like T.J. a lot and look forward to him having a lengthy career at the Q.

Interesting. I've only seen him a few times and my impression of him could not be more different then the OP's. He's primarily been hyper and all over the place when I've watched. One of the first times I saw him was memorable as he was presenting the Poopourri product. Now granted that's definitely not an easy sell for any host but he was silly and juvenile almost to the point of being offensive. And a recent sell for a set of two throws had him trashing the display and then dragging the person in charge of having to redo the display out onto the set so he could give her a hug of thanks...a move she seemingly wasn't that interested in. Basically to me he comes off like a bull in a china closet kind of host.

That's good to hear that he has settled down.  I like him.   He was over anxious and I think QVC told him to be fun, silly, cooky.

it's obvious they are telling hosts to act this way,

Exactly!  They are all loud, silly, telling jokes and made up stories.  They obviously were told to be high energy and fun.

I've tried to give him a chance, but he's now a complete channel changer for me. I'm not sure why, but he purposely doesn't prepare for his shows other than having some kind of chat to learn the vendors' names (which he admits), and this leads to a lot of dumb questions and comments as well as awkwardness that he tries to shrug off by saying things like, "I don't know anything about that—tell me more!" I'm sure some people could find that charming, but it doesn't have that effect on me; I get the impression that he doesn't care enough to do anything beyond the minimum and hopes he'll get by on his looks and laughter.

I acknowledge that the Q is not making things easy for him by having him host shows about kitchen and decor items that he admits multiple times per show he knows nothing about, but if he would just try to prepare, he could at least talk through basic details that are readily available on the website and likely on his cards, which he still can't stop burying his face in after months. I mean, he was an actor before—did he not have to memorize lines? When you compare him against the other brand new hosts, he's much more amateur and unwatchable.

Finally, although I have seen him do a couple of item presentations where he was fairly calm and grounded, the majority of the shows I've seen him on still feature him jumping around (literally) and shouting, especially when food is involved. And his interruptions and weird jokes when he's asked to join the host of the show before his to set up some banter and a transition are not pleasant. The only exception was a nice, heartfelt moment he had with Mary on ITKWM while thanking her for her help mentoring him that lasted about 15 seconds, and then he was back to shouting and running around. No thanks.

I just tune into QVC for a short time, usually at night.

The last and only time I saw TJ was him presenting a Berkshire throw.  He was super hyper.  He threw the throw on the floor and laid down on it and rolled up in it like a burrito.

The only thing that I was impressed with was how fast he got unrolled and stood up.  It would take me more than a few seconds to get up off of the floor.

I have yet to see a segment with TJ. I’ve seen him briefly as he joins another host to talk about his upcoming show. Have not seen him hosting a show. Will have to check when he is on. If he is a calm host as some have said, then Yay, a host I will watch. But if he is like the majority of QVC hosts, loud and obnoxious I’ll pass.

What a brilliant post!!  TJ is an actor. He has no news background like many of the original hosts did.  The old QVC is long gone.

TJ is so ill prepared it is stunning. All he wants to do is eat the food the food stylists prepare. He constantly talks about working out and going to the gym at 5am. His real job is too look cute and act like a host....which he does poorly

Eye Candy? Certainly. Young? For sure. Clean shaven? Of course. He is the perfect QVC robot host.

Saw him briefly yesterday, Saturday wearing an Alberti sweater.

I can't put my finger on it but there's something OFF about him.

I don't know what but it just is there.
