Re: Holiday Presentations

[ Edited ]

Yes, pretty much every year though. Other than a few 'speciality' shows, all the trinkets, gadgets, 'practical' presents, electronics and so on are a big reason I watch so little QVC anymore. Not only are the products almost universally boring but they tend to be self-explanatory and do not require endless, redundant and repetitive presentations.

I bought a set of Berkshire blankets for a friend who loves them. I'm doing my other gifts -and I don't have a lot- - elsewhere.

It is a real snoozer. I call those shows "hard goods" shows. Those consisting of blenders, vacuums, computers, the Halo of course and plain old household gifts. I don't bother with those shows.

Have checked a few times,  bought  a few  items, but finding great sales at other  websites .

Gems En Vogue  web site having a big sale and free shipping & extra 10 %off .

Already received the sweaters  sent via UPS from Talbots that I bought pre Black Friday sale  and some toys from Mondware  which were Black Friday  pricing . Yippy !

What specifically do you want to see QVC offer that you are not seeing?

Many of the gift are the same type you see at other retailers. They must hold some interest or they wouldn't be repeated at this time of year after year.

I find most are on the practical side, so I guess many find that appealing.

It doesn't bother me.

I refuse to watch Q's Christmas shows. I find the products boring and overpriced. The repetition year after year is boring and I have better things to do.

I guess I'm confused at the expectations of Christmas shoppers.  When I had a number of gifts to purchase I made a list of items I wanted to purchase and the recipients.  I never wandered around a mall or watched home shopping channels to figure out what to buy. I had my list and checked off the items as I found them.

The holiday on-air items on QVC I'm mostly buying for stocking stuffers or "thank you" gifts for my letter carrier, delivery drivers, hair dresser, waste management team, book club members.
