Higher Clothing Ventors/Pricing

I have, and still do, even with retirement, consider myself 'middle class.

However, QVC's prices, even  D&C which I considered 'reasonable', have become too high for my budget.  With retirement, I don't need or want anything 'classy', just neat, modern-looking and comfortable (especially with this southern heat).

When I consider something I think I might like, I figure in the s/h + tax.  There is no way I am going to pay anywhere between $55 and $75 for an ordinary T, blouse or slacks/capris.

I'm not just pointing out D&C, I'm referring to just about all the other vendors.

I'm sticking with K*HLS and other B&M!

MHO, everyone spends their money on their 'needs or wants'!

I like shopping at  JJILL, and some of those prices are way out of line, so I wait for things to go on sale. Even before being retired I would' pat 90.00 for a top, but that's just me, we all have our price limits.

I am also retired.  Unless someone is drowning with money, most people are looking to pay fair prices for everything.  I wanted a few more tops for summer into fall and am not ready to pay "investment" prices for such clothing.  I found exactly what I wanted at Macy's, already on sale, with an additional 20 percent off.  Perfect for my everyday use.  And they are petites.  So often QVC ignores the petite customer.

I fully agree!  I believe ALL of the  Q's prices have steadily increased.  Used to buy Susan Graver but her prices have crept up.  Don't buy very much from her anymore.  I am also retired as of Tuesday so I will now have to watch my pennies more closely even when buying D&C whose prices I liked but they also have increased.

Re: Higher Clothing Ventors/Pricing

There are all levels of pricing in retail.  Sometimes I feel like a $60 top, and sometimes I'm fine with a $20 top.  I really like to comparison shop, and so far I've not had a problem finding what I like.  It's all good.

Dear Psuchick,

I wanted to get back to you to wish you a very happy retirement.  My DH and I have never missed working, not even once.  You will enjoy your freedom!  All my best.

I might spend a little more for a Special Occasion.....but these prices seem high for every day for a retired lady.

Petunia, what is B & M?  I would like to check them out.

As for your post, I am so in agreement.  D & C items are the most reasonably priced now; it all the others that are so out of hand.  Then, add postage and taxes, and you've spent $100 for a t-top!!!

B&M usually refers to brick and mortar. An actual building instead of an on-line store.
