Re: HOW IS THIS WORKING FOR YOU, QVC?

Looks like no one at QVC noticed how many times forum posters helped others with a multitude of QVC issues, many newbies, who couldn't get their questions answered by the Customer Service Dept.

To some extent some here became a small extension of the customer service department that saved time for CS and the Social Team.

I can think of other advantages for QVC.  For example, the times we offered shoppers a solution for accessing "Reviews" when they didn't come up?

@Foxxee

I'm one that stopped watching QVC a decade ago and I have to admit that the majority of my Q purchases since then has been items that were recommended by other forum posters.

With the 'import' of reviews from other sites, many stating that they received product free or received an 'incentive' for their reviews, makes their review worthless to me.

I always trusted the recommendations/reviews from my fellow posters here more, since they were NOT paid to leave a good review.

@Foxxee    Don't you imagine the social team will be assimilated into CS?

Mr. Rawlinson may see himself as getting credit for making the brilliant decision to eliminate the boards.

Whoa all the noise you made with the excitement of getting A new CEO I guess it is not working out for you. You still have the same complaints in fact you are complaining more now. I told you it is not going to make any difference.

@MrSour    Excuse me, what noise?  I would have been excited to have seen a CEO who could handle the job.  With Mr. Rawlinson's background I'm very dubious and have been since I read his resume.  Yes, I expect more of the same or worse.

Terrible way for them to treat customers. I purchased and participated on the Forums. Now I won't be doing either. I hope their bottom line hits Rock Bottom under this new leader.

@Kachina624  When I first came here this morning I wondered if this was a coincidence or not.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I do believe that this was in the works for a while. The new CEO will get the blame for it.  This didn't just happen. Someone didn't have the nerve to do it (even though I believe it was his idea) so he let it fall on the new guy.

@Sage04    It may have been in the works but he agreed to it and implemented it.  He came in with a big bang, taking advantage of a group of loyal female customers.  Big whoop.

What percentage of QVC customers do you realistically think are represented on these boards?

No matter who made the decision to close the board, if sales plummet, then vendors will leave.  Maybe it is the vendors who need to be contacted.

@Kachina624

I don't know.  The Social Team appears to be highly trained. From my experience, Customer Service agents are not.  Other than using them for CS training, I don't think they'd be happy just answering phones.  IMO, it's a demotion.

So, what are their other duties besides the forum? We don't really know, do we?  They might have enough to do without the forum.

"Mr. Rawlinson may see himself as getting credit for making the brilliant decision to eliminate the boards."

No doubt, he is looking for kudos from the Board of Directors and stockholders who own the majority of shares.

I find it interesting during July 2020 when 490 employees were laid off along with 3 hosts, the forum survived.  Wasn't it around that time QVC cut live hours on QVC1?  QVC, evidently thought the forum important enough to continue.  This is the reason why I don't think it was Mike George's decision to close it or he would have done so previously when QVC was losing sales in the past.

We forget QVC has a president who could have been the one to close it, but she didn't in the past.  Why now...when a new CEO starts.  I don't think it is a coincidence.

So, I agree with you, it's this new CEO.
