JMO. Everyone should know there are no guarantees in December.  Some common sense reasons:

• Huge volume of packages being shipped
• Blizzards and other bad weather
• Q has no control once the order is sent to the vendor or the package leaves their warehouse.
• Q ships most things by parcel post, the lowest priority of all mail. If people want a better chance of receiving something, they should pay for faster shipping. 
• Vendors ship at their own speed.

I don't remember the hosts wording it that way.  I remember as them saying it would arrive by Christmas, but I could be remembering it incorrectly.

I still think a company has no business saying they guarantee something if it is out of their control to do so.

@DottieBlue You did not remember incorrectly.  I too recall that QVC guaranteed delivery by Christmas.  Yes, it will be out of their hands once it is out of their warehouse.  But I agree that they should not be making promises they can not keep.

Anything I have to have, I either order in October or earlier, or I go to the store for it.  I understand some customers had CIJ items that didn't arrive.  That does stink.

Exactly.  But I still say that QVC should have stated it as they expect it to arrive by Christmas, and NOT we guarantee delivery by Christmas.  There is a difference.

I agree with most everything said here.  I take issue with the wording of QVC saying that they "guarantee delivery by Christmas."  I don't count on any package arriving from anyone as stated during the holidays.  What I ordered was not consequential and normally I am done by Thanksgiving.  I just do not want QVC to promise something that they cannot really promise and I think they need to change their pitch or deliver it themselves if they plan on it to arrive on time, as they said it would.  I pass out small gifts at Valentines day to my office staff, so I am just going to keep what I ordered and not them.

QVC was the best for me with shipping.  The worst? Amazon. All of my Amazon deliveries were supposed to come from them and not from third party vendors.  (I have Prime.) Items under 50 miles away never arrived. When dates kept changing to five days, six days, and even seven,I was able to cancel most items. When I was asked for a review of items and mentioned confusing tracking and slow delivery in my reviews, Amazon contacted me and said I was not allowed to mention delivery in my review, so I reviewed nothing.

Or they could have said it should arrive by Christmas. Meaning it should but no guarantees.

I still haven't gotten the KC Prime Rib yet. It's supposed to be here next Thursday. I keep trying to cancel and it still says it's too far in the process. Yeah right! 

I have contacted CS and there's nothing they can do as it's saying what I just said. 

Never again will I believe the "Guarenteed before Christmas" line again!

If Amazon stated that they  GUARANTEED your items will arrive by Christmas, like QVC did, but you got them 3 days after Christmas, then shame on Amazon, too. 

The word "guarantee" is supposed to mean something.
