I do not know why they guarantee something will arrive by Christmas at all. I ordered 3 things 10 days before the holidays and they were very clear that they were guaranteed to arrive by Christmas. I received them on the 28th. 3 days after Christmas!!!! I don't think that I should have to pay to return them when they did not arrive on time, but when I called customer service all I got was the run around. Normally, I am done way earlier, but had a family emergency this year that kept me from purchasing sooner. Everything else I ordered from every other company arrived in plenty of time and I did some last minute shopping when the QVC packages did not arrive.

Once they leave QVC, packages are in the hands of UPS. That's where the delays came from this year. QVC's guarantee only means they'll ship it in time to get to you.

@Kimlm. Try calling CS again and tell them you want to take advantage of the shipping guarantee by requesting a refund of shipping fees. It depends on the CSR you get.

I also placed an order for an item that had the Q's "guarantee by Christmas" sales pitch.
I received an email this morning (the 29th) from UPS (with photo proof) that it had been delivered this morning - 4 days after Christmas. Plus, unfortunately for me, it was delivered to the wrong house!
So I called UPS and they said they couldn't do anything about it even tho it was UPS who said it had been delivered, and they told me I needed to call the sender (QVC). I called QVC and the CS person said they'll send me another one as they still had it in stock.
The item is for myself so it doesn't matter that I didn't get it by Christmas, but I still think that's a pretty stinky sales pitch.

I don't remember the hosts wording it that way. I remember as them saying it would arrive by Christmas, but I could be remembering it incorrectly.
I still think a company has no business saying they guarantee something if it is out of their control to do so.

I was just mentioning to friends how quickly I received purchases throughout the holiday season.

Unfortunately retailers can only go by the information given by their shippers. They really need to drop the spiel and only state that they hope it arrives in time.
I thought I made a Target purchase early enough to arrive. After a couple of delay notifications I received it today. I figure it was ultimately my responsibility for not having thought of this item sooner. At least I received it.
@Kimlm, I agree. Call CS again and explain the situation. You have nothing to lose.

2 years ago I ordered a special Christmas Cake for my husbands Birthday and it arrived 2 days after Christmas. CS did credit me for the inconvenience but I would have much rather had the cake delivered as they said it would be.
I no longer rely on the Christmas delivery promise.

I had good luck with my orders arriving from the Q. The items I ordered from Amazon took 3+ weeks and arrived 3 days after Christmas. I ordered the items on December 4 shipping from Amazon and not a vendor.
