Re: Getting Real with Leah Williams

I just watched Leah's video (thanks for posting this). As someone else here said, Leah is not different than anyone else, any of us. We eat like it's our last meal, we eat a lot of food at one sitting, much more than we need to or even want perhaps.

It's true, many of us can put on the pounds easily and yes, whether we believe it or not, it's all about WHAT we eat, what we choose to eat. Certainly there are many foods that are just plain not good for us. I don't care what anyone says about this, there are tons of bad foods everywhere.

Some times we have a particular health problem or two that we may not even know about that causes us to pack on the pounds. A few years ago I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, a slow thyroid that wasn't working properly. Between this and my not eating as healthy as I should have been, I finally have a healthy working thyroid. Yes I do need medication for it but it's now working as it should and on my Dec 31 appt checkup, my Dr said I no longer have a hypothyroid.

I've also needed to change my diet by cutting out sweets, candy, desserts, chips/snacks, breads, pasta. When I eat these things, I put on the weight. When I omit on a very regular basis I do not get fat. Dr & I talked about this, she also said that (1) now that I'm at this realization and (2) can just not eat these foods, I lose the weight which means as well, my thyroid is working properly because the pounds drop off. I feel better, I look better. And like Leah, my chothes sizes have gone down too.

Thyroid problems are just one thing that can certainly affect out health. I know there are many more out there, we're all different with different metabolisms too. However, having your thyroid checked for problems is a great place to start with your Dr. It only takes a simple blood test.

Leah's probably my favorite host, very nice, personable and doesn't constantly interrupt vendors.

Re: Getting Real with Leah Williams

My favorite host without a doubt. But she did look like she lost a lot more than 40 pounds. She actually looked gaunt and too thin awhile back but seems to be in a great place now. I thoroughly enjoy watching her.
