Re: GLAMorial Day????? How offensive!

QVC is stuck in a marketing bubble. In a meeting, “Glamorial Day” probably sounded cute and on brand, but they didn’t include veterans or military families who understand the weight of Memorial Day. So, the team thinks it’s a fun pun, and the audience sees disrespect.

A better way to merge marketing with respect would have been something like: We are grateful to the men and women who have served our country. Because of them, we’re able to enjoy this holiday weekend together — and share meaningful savings with you.

Is LUG owned by QVC? I checked it out and it looks to be an independent company with a CEO who isnt the CEO of Q.

Maybe QVC has nothing whatever to do with LUG's programing or marketing.

Maybe complaints should be directed at LUG.

Re: GLAMorial Day????? How offensive!

@Lisa now in AZ  Did QVC promote this Lug/LWYA event?  I cannot find that.

This has nothing to do with QVC.

Lug and Kims' LWYA brands are separate entities that market their brands elsewhere from QVC.  Just like Tara markets her Temp-tations brand in stores and malls outside of their QVC affiliation.

Complain to Kim and Ami if you want to be heard by someone involved in this event.

This event had nothing to do with Q. it was a LUG event, a company run by young professionals. The term Glamorial is no different than other companies using this holiday

for $$$$$.

Ok, then if QVC didn’t air this, the point still holds for the lug or whoever was involved. The issue is the wording itself and how it landed with viewers

What am I missing? QVC has nothing to do with Glamorial Day? This is strictly Lug?

Wrong is still wrong just because you benefited from it.

Re: GLAMorial Day????? How offensive!

[ Edited ]

I also contacted LUG and got a bland "We are sorry if you found our campaign offensive." It looks like it is a combined online stream with Kim Gravel, Lug Life and QVC. I think they are using Jane Treacy's daughter as their make up demonstrator.

ETA: And, you're right - this is not a QVC program per se. It is a combination of Kim Gravel and LUG Life, both of which we know primarily from QVC. If these brands are going to do their own things, they really need to clarify what they are doing. And having Jane Treacy's daughter, also tied to QVC makes it even more tied to QVC, one off.

I realize that Kim and propbably Lug are trying to prepare themselves for the next iteration of what QVC will become, but it is causing confusion when they are still selling on QVC. That still associates them.

Finally found it with a Goggle search & it's a LUG event, the ad content has been removed but the text...Get Ready With Allisyn & Deirdre For A Perfect Sunkissed Look, join us Lug Live website or the app. I was searching everywhere for it on Q website...ugh.

Re: GLAMorial Day????? How offensive!

@Lisa now in AZ  Where do you see that QVC had involvement with this?  Deirdre is not a QVC employee.  She's Jane's daughter and has her own connection with Kim and LWYA.

Every post and video promoting this was by Kim Gravel and Lug.  No mention of QVC.  There is no QVC livestream of this; QVC made no posts or videos about it.

QVC promotes everything they possibly can to get more eyes and possible shoppers.  They have nothing about this.
