I was happy to find a sample of an Elemis product in a recent QVC fashion order.

It was a nice surprise and I wish it would happen more often...especially skin care, make up and fragrance. Those are always great try-before-you-buy items.

Samples are terrific.  The title "free samples" made me chuckle, it reminded me of another term.   How often do we see the term " Free Gift"?    I never charge anyone for a gift, nor has anyone ever charged me.  A gift is always given freely!

@esmerelda,

I thought your topic "Free Samples" was correct and not redundant at all.  Sometimes, samples are not free.  However, in the case of gifts, they are always, or supposed to be free.  So, Free Gift  is definitely redundant!  However, it's used all the time.

Several yrs ago, QVC offered some sample size sets of several different beauty items. I wish they would do it again. I would much rather buy sample sizes to try a product, then the big quantities. Of course you can return if not satisfied, but with the return fees, a smaller size would be better in the long run. Maybe I'll make that suggestion on their FB page. I know I've bought a couple of beauty items that I would like to have returned, but due to cost of returns, I just kept.
