I don't remember the year but it was a long time ago, when Dan Hughes and Mike Rowe worked overnight hours. I bought a set of carousel horse ornaments that were presented by Mr. Hughes. Clarence Reynolds, Katrina Owens and Pat James (before she married) also worked late nights (Pacific time) at that time.

My first purchase was around 2001.

I purchased the Cinnamon Buns & Strawberry Milkshake body wash duo from Philosophy.  I remember watching the presentation and being totally intrigued by the fact that you could buy something off of the tv.  They made it seem to easy and it WAS!

I do remember watching CVN when one day the channel flipped over to QVC. I was in a rage! I bought a few things from CVN but do not remember what my first was. Molly Daley sold me a 16" herringbone that I still wear. Small diamonique earrings were an early purchase too. Remember when they had a purchase with purchase deal? One of mine is a pair of heart garnet earrings in gold for cheap. So many good buys in gold under $ 50. Collectors day was fun and dolls. I miss the variety and the old hosts.

I discovered QVC while recovering from lung cancer surgery in 2004. My 1st purchase was a large Lee Sands eel skin wallet.

My hubby still has one and so do I. Still have his pearl earrings.

Re: First QVC Purchase?

[ Edited ]

When I saw Q flipping channels many decades ago, I saw Diamonique studs set in platinum clad. That was down the rabbit hole for me. I had Diamonique studs in all sizes, shapes and set in gold, too.

I still have tennis bracelets (Mom left me hers set in real gold (!!) and most of the studs that I wear often. I graduated to "Amy's ring in an oval and wedding band" most recently.

Then went on to Philosophy and became a Bare Minerals gal. I didn't try clothing until I saw my NYDJ jeans discounted w/o shipping. Loved Barrefoot Dreams, but find it for much less at Nord. Rack. I never ordered food items. Sat. Morning Silver Style with jane or Jill and of course the shows when Bobbi Brown would come on and teach.

Most of what QVC sells is available elsewhere at better prices.

January 1995, Gold Rush Day, I was channel surfing, and this beautiful gold herringbone neck chain was on my screen, fell in love with it ,called and ordered, Judy Crowell was the host at the time. It happened to be the TSV that day.  By the end of the day I had also orderd 2 bracelets. All still in my possession today. .

My very first purchase was a heart shaped 3 ct lilac colored amethyst ring in silver. And even remember who the host was--Steve Colantuno--anyone remember him? Was in 1986--I still have the stone--and the 2nd thing was the 4 qt Nesco roaster.
