   For me any finger to the nose gesture is a definite turn off. There's some famous people who are on TV to make speeches and they always are putting their finger on the side of their nose when they talk.  David V is a turn off to me  with his finger to the nose gesture. I had a grade school  teacher who did the same thing every time she was making a point abt something we had to remember.

So funny how a simple comment can turn into all this.

I assume his finger isn't IN his nose. That would be disgusting especially on a kitchen show. Let's be grateful for small favors.

KKJ: "So if you never watch him, why do you have such 'an intense dislike for him'?"

The obvious answer is that oxox, like me, doesn't watch Venable because of her dislike of him. And I, too, did not know whom "DV" referred to.

People seem to be in the mood to snark, so I'm sure someone will be along to do so shortly, and thatʻs OK. I'm happy to provide an opportunity for others to blow off steam, if it helps!

The OP used the initials DV, and that could even be a vendor or even some celebrity.  They didn't say it was a host.

Just fyi, those of us that order online and never watch shows often have no idea who the hosts are, and just a couple initials don't give enough information.

One of the biggest mistakes people make when starting threads are assuming everyone will automatically know what they mean, or who they are talking about.

IMO, it was a fair question.

@Tinkrbl44 Thank you!!

I think it's quite calculated.  In my view it's part of the successful television character and persona that has been carefully crafted and created;  a compendium of familiar words, phrases and gestures to keep the fans satisfied.

It's his way of saying "hmm, this is interesting". I can't stand it when he does it.

@Nana2158

Nope, Venable is the only host I can’t stand watching for even a few seconds, and I've never mentioned it before. I’m sure he has good qualities; I just don’t care for him as a host. There’s another I don’t care for, but I can watch her for more than 5 seconds. Sometimes 10.

Also, you called people you disagree with nasty, rude, toxic, and miserable (and with not even a hint of irony). This is a discussion about salespeople, not geopolitics. There’s no need to take it so seriously or be so insulting.
