I have been looking at a ceramic Christmas tree that is 24" tall. At the start of
Christmas decorations being offered it was $89.00. Then a little while later it
was offered for $99.00 plus $10.00 shipping and handling. This was up to a
week ago and now with"free shipping and handling" it is $109.00. I would not
have noticed this but since I was thinking about ordering this tree I was hoping
they would reduce the price. I wonder on how many other things this has been
done.

Prices fluctuate, offers fluctuate. It's the way it is.

I was keeping an eye on a Cuddl Duds item for a long time. Kept looking at it, couldn't decide if I should get it, etc. It was $48 and change for the longest time....until free shipping was offered. Then it went up to $53.

Y'all really didn't think "free" meant free, did ya?
Don't you know that there's no such thing as a free lunch?
That's why I don't get all excited when any retailer purports to offer so called "free" shipping.
In order for me to get excited, a retailer has to
1. Have low prices to begin with
2. Have a REAL sale at least 30% off
3. Be able to use a coupon code
4. And then and only then, throw in the free shipping.
I can't believe that people are actually shocked/surprised/disappointed to discover that prices actually go up during "free" shipping days.
You honestly didn't think that QVC wasn't going to make up the money some how, did you?😆😄

Yes, I have seen QVC raise prices on some things during free shipping days.

@Anonymous032819 I am surprised that more people have not figured out this free shipping scam a long time ago. Like a poster mentioned no free lunches

It's a mind game retailers do to make us "think" we're getting a great deal!

I had several items on my wish list and none of the prices went up with free shipping (I made a note of prices). I guess I was the only one who got a "free lunch".

I ordered three things during free shipping days. None of them increased in price for the event.

@pripirt Those ceramic trees are available elsewhere, so maybe you can find one from another retailer. Yesterday I saw one at Home Goods - sorry, I can't recall the price, but it was the green ceramic one with the lights and yellow star on top and looked just like the ones that are on QVC.
Probably between $30.00 and $50.00 since if it was more than that, I would have been surprised and I did check the price, but just can't remember what it was....probably around $39.99. I'm at Home Goods all the time, and can usually guess what the prices are before even checking out the tag.....oops, maybe I'm there too much! LOL
