Are exchanges still free?  Will I be charged for shipping?  I've heard many complaints here.  Thinking it may be just easier to return and reorder.

@ScrapHappy You will have to pay to return it but yes, it is easier and faster to return and reorder.  Exchanges are indeed "free", but it can take more than a month to get your item, if at all.  I have had two very bad experiences with exchange attempts within the last six months.  They are extremely inefficient in processing your return (as having arrived), issuing the exchange (they often simply credit you without reason), notifying you of what they're doing, and resolving the isssue.  I have had to call multiple times for each of the two items I tried to exchange and was ultimately simply refunded.  And yes THEY HAD THE ITEMS IN INVENTORY.

If you really want something, order another and return the original.  Hopefully it is defective so you'll get your shipping refunded.

@ScrapHappy.  To answer your question, yes, exchanges are still free.  You should not be charged return shipping if you try and the item is out of stock.  If you are charged, report to the social team.

Read the procedure for exchanging before mailing your item back.

I received the wrong item the other day.  Actually, the item was correct but wrong size and color sent.  Called customer service and will send out right away and can wait to make sure before I return the other one.

I think maybe the third time in all my time with the Q.  I'm just glad they have one left.

Exchanges are supposed to be free, if the same item is still in stock.  It seems that people have the most luck if they call customer service about it before returning.  If you just mail in the item and mark  "exchange" on the return slip, chances are good they'll just refund the item and charge you for shipping.

@ScrapHappy - I guess I have good luck with exchanges; they generally go smoothly for me. After I complete the exchange form, whether a physical version or online, here are the steps I follow for the best results:

1) Document the tracking number.

2) Drop off the exchange package at the courier.

     • If it's USPS, get a receipt for your records.
3) Check the tracking details to confirm when the package has been processed.

     • If USPS, wait until the system shows the agent has picked up.

     • If UPS, wait until the package is scanned at a new location (not drop-off).

4) Wait one extra day and then contact customer service or the social team.

     • Sometimes they can help as soon as the package moves, but waiting
that single extra day ensures that all the tracking systems are updated.
And it's advisable not to contact them on a Sunday; coverage is limited.

     • Provide the details for the original order and the exchange request.

     • Provide the tracking number (they usually have it, but it can be helpful).

The representative should be able to tell you whether your desired exchange item is in stock and process the exchange immediately if it is or refund immediately if it isn't. I've never been charged for shipping when doing this (but to be fair, I think I've only been charged once or maybe twice with the usual wait-for-return-to-QVC approach). The notes the reps leave in the system to indicate the exchange has been processed seem to wrap things up perfectly.

And FWIW, I always continue to track the return package to make sure it arrives at QVC; typically, they email you after they process it, but I'm signed up with all the couriers' alert systems so it's simple to check on delivery progress/status.

GOOD LUCK!

I did not know about not being charged shipping if you are exchanging and they are out of stock.   I need to double check that.  Thanks for info.

Just looked and I have been reimbursed when out of stock and just never paid much attention.  Good to know though and shame on me for not.

@ScrapHappy  -  If there was an item I really wanted, I would just reorder instead of exchaging.  It's more expensive that way, but I've read too many posts about exchanging never working out.
