I have been using my Discover credit card to buy from QVC for awhile and getting 5% back on my Discover card. Now Discover has announced that as of October 31 it is totally doing away with Discover Deals which means no more 5% back.  So I decided to look into EBATES.  I know nothing about this website and am not sure it is safe.  Any information you could relay about EBATES would be greatly appreciated.

I've been using Ebates for a year now and have earned about $130.  3 other family members that I know of have joined.   It's fun and easy.  They pay you 4x a year either by check or Paypal I think.   Never had a problem.  Also the Ebate is different with every store and they can go up or down daily.  Right now the Q is at 4%.   check it out...I hope this helps a little.....ps I love it

I did go there, but my concern is how safe is my credit card, and do they sell your personal information to other companies.

Love ebates.  Unfortunately if you use apple products QVC has discontinued their use (browser issue) so you have to use chrome or some other non-safari browser.

@daisy4. I joined ebates this spring.  Have had no issues.  I have my PayPal account linked and have had no issues/trouble.  As mentioned the rebates from them come quarterly--next one is November.  You can get your rebate by mail or to your PayPal account.  I opted for PayPal for receiving the quarterly disbursement.  Very pleased.

Don't recall what the fine print said about sharing info, but I noticed no uptick in e-mail activity.  You will get e-mail from Ebates--specials, etc.

Hope that helps.  Just remember to use it before you check out on a website so you will get whatever the percentage is that day for whatever online vendor you are purchasing from.

@Jtdmum  I have a Mac and use Safari and use Ebates all the time.  I've never had a problem with QVC.  I don't buy from QVC very often but am pretty sure I've used Ebates with it.  I have the Ebates button that pops up on the websites that offer it, and it always pops up on QVC.

Unfortunateliy, QVC usually has only 1% cash back on Ebates.  Other stores are much higher.  I've been using it for several years at least and have had no problems with anything.  I'm not even sure they have your credit card--not sure they would need it.  They deposit my refund into my PayPal account four times a year.  I've not noticed that they sell my info to any other websites.  You could read their privacy statement.

I've been using Ebates for a few years now.  My rebate is deposited into my Paypal account.  You need to keep track of your purchases because I often have to fill out a "Where's my Cash Back" form when I don't get credit on purchases.  I don't know why it happens to me frequently, but it does.  However, they are fast at resolving the issue and credit is given.

Thanks to everyone who answered.  I did join today.  QVC is usually at 1%, but right now it is at 4%.  Too bad I didn't know that when i did my fall clothes shopping!  I'm sure there will be a next time.

@daisy4, I have used Ebates for years.  You don't have to give them your credit card info.  They send me a check in the mail.  You just have to make sure you go to their site and enter the store from their site.  There are some other sites like Ebates out there, Mr Rebates and Shop at Home.  I use Ebates and one other and go back and forth depending on which has the better deal at the time.  Ebates also has a credit card that gives you even more cash back assuming you pay off your CC every month.  If not, the interest would probably eat up any rebate from using the card.
