QVC is huge, and has been for decades -
They also have a major following, many of us check in every day online to see the specials and news. Even if they have to drop their tv channels we are all still here.
In fact I haven't had cable since I moved down South last year and instead watch the videos for each particular item to get the details.
Yes, it's great to be able to see all the specials on tv, but to tell the truth I don't miss it that much.
And I'm sure QVC has top notch advisers and attorneys, they know what they're doing.
So they have to change and restructure, that's fine - As long as QVC is still open and running!
They're not going to let it go that easily.

@Ronettes I'm glad! I've been with QVC from the beginning, way back in the 80s. For me, I think the Q is far superior to HSN. I enjoying watching and I hope they do well.

That's what Sears, Roebuck & Co thought...

Huge by what definition?
Number of employees?
Gross Revenue?
By market definition it is now only a Micro-Cap corporation.
It's market value is a mere $17 million! That's not "huge" by any measure.
I hope they survive in some form but it won't be easy.
The company needs $2.9 billion by October 27th.

I was always aware of QVC, but working long hours, up at 4:30 with my husband, taking care of a cat colony, etc., did not really have much time to watch them on tv. So I am relatively new to them, the last several years or so.
But I think QVC is great, don't like HSN all that much. QVC is special and unique, we get to see and hear from the designers themselves, very interesting.
Long Live QVC!!

All the gloom-and-doomers and debbie-downers don't need to say anything here.
I worked in corporate America for a number of years and am no stranger to this bankruptcy scene.
Two large companies I worked for both went that route, and could have been saved if upper management had not ruined it.
Personally, I'm hoping for the best!

I really hope they stay afloat. I would be very disappointed if they folded!
I hate to say it but QVC has become a part of my daily life.....between the forum, watching shows and buying probably most of my wardrobe here it has sneaked into my regular life.
I don't watch as much as many but I will often have it on as background noise. Right now I'm in my kitchen and have the Q on mute on my kitchen TV.
I would be very sorry to see it go.

I am hoping they stay afloat, but the reality is, they will eventually go under.
Shoppers no longer want to sit in front of a TV to shop. And, then there is Amazon. They sell everything and have put many retailers out of business.
Amazon is bigger, deliver faster, are great with returns and the prices are competitive.
QVC is not huge anymore. They closed their retail outlets and some warehouses and no longer offer 24 hr live programming.
It's too bad, but I fear the end is coming.

While I agree, they are in a tenuous position, we've known the stock price has been terrible for years now. The value of the whole corporation is $5.95 billion right now. I can't even imagine where that $2.9b is going to come from.
