My wife recently tried to order a kitchen appliance. Ended up being backordered for weeks and then cancelled. Does qvc not keep items in stock? Do they just order from a vendor? What's the deal?

@Andurl  Many items are shipped directly from the vendors.

So qvc just takes the order and then sends that order to the company?

@Anduril If you really want something and need it or don't want to just "maybe get it," order elsewhere.

We have figured that out now. Never ordering from here again. We had always imagined that qvc kept a big wearhouse of things so when you're ordering from qvc, it would come from qvc.

@Anduril  They do keep some items in their distribution centers, but they don't stockpile items like Amazon. Last Christmas they lost their North Carolina distribution center to a fire, and it has yet to be rebuilt. I guess I would say that most items come from the vendors, but I have also received items shipped from their warehouses.

I place many QVC orders and don't ever recall having failed to receive what I ordered.  Yes, qvc does have warehouses, several of them, and most merchandise is shipped from them.

There are some items that are more expeditiously shipped by the vendor, usually food and heavier merchandise.  Everyone is still having supply chain issues with goods coming from China where Covid is still raging.  Sometimes manufacturers just can't deliver what they've promised because they don't have workers, raw materials, or transportation.

This is the first item she has ever ordered from qvc. She has tried to order a laptop from hsn last year and it was cancelled after three days. No reason given.

I’m currently having a disappointing experience with “back order” myself now with the recent IHKWIP TSV. I ordered it during one of the on-air presentations in the middle of the TSV day and the color I chose was still in stock (or so they said). It spent a while in “preparing your order” and then moved to “back order”. I’m still hoping to get it, but not really banking on it
