I like nail Polish, I'm over 60 and wear bright or bold colors.
There are only 3 vendors I really can't tolerate and one host on Monday night that I find unwatchable. It's the products that mostly that make me change the channel. Same old products over and over again.

If you get distracted by this, don't ever tune into JTV. The nails on some of their hosts is unbelievable. There have been times hosts have come on air and their fake nails are grown halfway up their nailbed. They are about 3 weeks past time for needing a fill. LOL

I have a number of hosts I will not watch no matter the products and I do buy a few. Some of them truly are unwatchable - so I do change the channel. I don't watch at all, as an example, on Monday evenings.

No am not distracted by nail polish, hair, clothing of any host and I realize times change. I can either accept the changes that really do not affect my life at all..or get stuck in distraction and critisizm.. I only look at a product if am interested is all. I thought that in todays society folks support individuality and being ones "authentic self" no matter if it happens to appease our personal sensitivities? Women are very critical of each other sometimes......it boggles the mind.

I've been a QVC viewer and customer since the beginning. As a teen I would watch with my mom and look forward to beauty, jewelry, and fashion shows. We made sure to tune in when favorite hosts and vendors were going to be on. While Mom and I still watch together (a couple of decades later!), our enthusiasm has waned and we definitely don't watch like we used to. Just yesterday she called and we talked about how QVC is not as good as it once was.
I think the differences between then and now, as some have mentioned here, is the leadership change at QVC and overall vision. There was a time when it was apparent that the leadership placed products and their descriptions at high importance, and the hosts were held to a certain level of decorum. Recent QVC leadership seems to be promoting quirky entertainment over product descriptions and professionalism. I wouldn't be surprised if there were people behind the scenes encouraging certain hosts to talk silly, dress provocatively, or wear unusual hair/nail styles. It's like the hosts are trying to create and maintain a signature persona (like David's happy dance and yum yum face). Some viewers get distracted by all of that while others tune in for more. Put me in the distracted group.
In the end, all that matters is the bottom line. As long as QVC is making the desired profits, the ship will not change its course. With this leadership, I'm guessing that if they aren't happy with profits, they will just try to find another gimmick rather than going back to best practices. Most likely they won't see themselves or their policies as the problem.

I just don't understand the complaints about the hosts. QVC is like catalog shopping. You are either interested in the product or not. If you are not interested, turn the page or ignore what is being said or change the channel,
If you are interested, you can either get all of the info you need in about 60 seconds, or look online first and read the reviews while you are at it.
The host are not there to entertain us, though some do, or think they should.
Posters complain about the host's voice, laughing, repetition of the same words, talking too fast, pronouncing the word incorrectly, talking too much about personal issues and family, clothing, hair, make-up, nails, the way they walk, etc.
Personally, I find all of the posts complaining about the hosts getting old. Why bother to complain? The mods have to keep deleting the posts, and people complain about that. It's a cycle that is repeated everyday.
The bottom line is this. If you complain, it won't change a thing. There is no way for QVC or anyone's else to make everyone happy 100% of the time. Either ignore what is bothering you and learn to adapt, or don't watch.
I never wonder why QVC lets the hosts be themselves. No one wants an employer to micro-manage them. All humans are unique. We are supposed to be that way.

I understand your frustration with the complaining but QVC is television--- so sights & sounds are relevant.
A catalog, not so much.
That's how I look at it
If you are going to be on TV, then there are some higher standards.
In my mind anyway

But why complain?...No one is listening or changing anything, what bothers one person is what another person likes. Everyone's definition of what is a higher standard is different too. It's just getting old and boring and mostly at just ignore the posters. I suppose they like to have a place to vent with like minded people.
Funny, I have never noticed a male poster complaining about the hosts.

Blue, black and yellow nail polishes have been sold since the 80's! They're just colorful and tastefully done. None are inches too long, dirty, unkempt, or chipped-- something to really complain about. The hosts wear lipstick and clothing with colors, want that gone, too? I think these o bitty posts are too much.
Those whipper snappers!
