Re: Dan Hughes Posts About Carolyn Gracie's Return to QVC

@Marp I agree, coming out on top is the best revenge. I eventually came out on top but the journey was hard, very hard. It was a goal of mine to come out on top and not let that experience ruin my life,

Who know who won?  Carolyn.  She didn't make it personal.  She did what she had to do and moved on.  Good for her.

Re: Dan Hughes Posts About Carolyn Gracie's Return to QVC

When I heard her plans, at first I felt no way would I crawl back to a company that cut off my livelihood after so many years, a few years before retirement, then help them make more money.

Then, we hear QVC is happy about it!  Come on!  If they are so happy, why did they let her go?  Business decision?  Everything companies do are business decisions.  Baloney!!!!

I suppose, though, she's actually working for Roberta's, not directly for QVC.

Dan suggested a financial hit for both of them.  I thought so.

If that's the case, I will support her decision.  Unfortunately, my experience with Roberta's has not been good.

Dan's writing a book?  I think he could make some $$$ if he wrote about his time at QVC.  I'd certainly read it!  But, there may be some sort of nondisclosure agreement in place to keep him from writing it.

Re: Dan Hughes Posts About Carolyn Gracie's Return to QVC

It's all business.  Good for her that she can make money from the company that let her go.  I hope she makes thousands from her products.

Time changes everything.  Nothing ever stays the same.  Would they have been the two I would have let go?  No, but I'm a boomer and I related to both of them.  If QVC is trying to reel in a younger demographic, then Carolyn and Dan are not the ones who will do it.  We've all seen the changes at the channel.  They're trying to stay relevant, but who knows if they'll be able to sustain themselves.  It was novel idea (home shopping) a few decades ago, but not so much anymore.  I have to confess, most of my online shopping is done on sites where I can order and be done in a matter of minutes.  I don't want to watch the same vendors repeat their spiel over and over again.  I don't want to watch hosts pretending to like all the food products, especially ones they've had to present dozens and dozens of times.  It's getting old and something has to give.  And sadly, QVC knows there are a lot of us who feel the same way or maybe don't care at all.

I can't believe that some people are angry because Carolyn is coming back to the company that fired her.
It's none of our business. She's making decisions that are best for her and her family. If she's happy, I'm happy for her.
