I have about had it with coupon codes that work only for select customers. I find it an insult to long time shoppers who buy regularly. I get it that they obviously make money off people who purchase via the QCard or why would they, push it. If they re going to offer other coupons though, they should be for everyone. When I get coupons from other retailers, anyone can use them. I have had things in my cart and if coupon doesn't work I refuse to buy.

I totally agree and do not understand why the Q would reward an indeterminate group of customers and alienate another group in the process. There has never been an explanation for this practice. I am among the alienated and, therefore, buy less and less.

I agree, but I also feel the same way about HSN.  They seem to issue coupon after coupon to the same customers.

I posted on another thread about the response I got from HSN, when I sent feedback about this issue.  In other words, "we understand your frustration and will pass it on..."  blah, blah, blah.  Sure!  And nothing changes.

It does seem counter productive to alienate a large portion of your potential customers.

If a coupon doesn't work for me on HSN, I don't purchase.  Period.  Knowing others could buy the same item for a lot less because they're deemed "select" tells me they don't value my business.

Re: Coupon Codes

[ Edited ]

I imagine the vast majority of customers don't know about discount codes, unless they get one by email or mail.

When they are shared it causes discord for those customers that aren't included, but I understand people are only trying to help.

I have found that QVC notifies me if a code is for me. I either receive it in the mail, or I get a notification on the app. Otherwise,  they don't work for me.

I bet after the coupon fairies read your post they will send you out a code immediately so they don't lose your sale  Woman Happy

On a couple of occasions I've received codes via email or text message that haven't worked for me. No idea why.

I've since unsubscribed from all QVC email and text message notifications. QVC was sending me so many messages it was annoying. Especially with codes that didn't work, came with restrictions one will not be aware of until you've added an item to your cart, gone to checkout and discovered that the code doesn't work, or were good for only a few hours.

I realize that coupon codes drive sales. But I don't like playing this game.

I agree 100 %. I guess from QVC's perspective, they can't afford to lose the revenue by offering discounts to every and all customers. But when they limit who they provide discounts to, they are alienating a lot of us.

@Catch71

This has been brought up a few times here. I said it before and I will mention it again. Although I know people are trying to be helpful when posting coupon codes, it causes people to feel undervalued and unappreciated when it doesn't work for them. I see no issue when a code is offered that all can access.

Most every retailer I purchase from offers exclusive coupons, Macy's, Kohl's, LTD, Costco, Current Catalog, HSN and more I can't think of at the moment. These offers are sent to me by email. Offers for select customers are NOT exclusive to QVC. What is unique is this forum where we can discuss topics including coupon codes.

I think it is taken too personally. I have no issue when a discount is offered I can't use, I understand they are trying to pull in a specific group. However, I believe if a code specifically states "select customers" and/or "non-transferable" it should not be posted as it just causes more customers to feel undervalued.

I know my opinion is not felt by all but I believe consideration should be taken when a poster knows it specifically states for select customers.

I have no problem whatsoever with exclusive,  restrictive and certain customers only offerings.

Why not?  It's standard retail marketing and customer targeting.

App Only....Q Card Only....the concept is the same.

I like the posting of "Select Customer Codes."  I can try it out and see if it works.  Sometimes yes, sometimes no.  That's the way life works.

I certainly don't take it personally or get offended.  QVC is a corporation,  not my best friend.
