When the models wear microphones, it makes me think the host isn't competent enough to carry the show for the full hour.  The host has to lean on the models.  Both of the hosts I'm thinking of seem to know nothing about garment construction, so they can't give input on fit, or how they are made.  They are both more full of themselves, than they are full of knowledge of garments.

I think it is  distracting and I really don't care what the models say about much---none of it has any impact on me at all---just more silliness and trying to appeal to the hip crowd. One of the many reasons I don't watch those hosts who use that practice.

HSN started doing this a few years ago during some of Colleen's shows where she was featuring her own clothing and jewelry.  They still do it.  In fact, one of the models went on to become a show host but didn't last long at all.
