The one saying I can't stand is "Here's the thing."  I hear that a lot with a specific host.

I just received a Christmas gift from a niece who lives in another state. (She was assured I'd have it by 12/24!  Anyway, it included a note pad saying "best Aunt ever", and the mug which says:  Aunt.  Like mom, only cooler!!!

So today, I'm cool with the word "cool"!!!Smiley LOLSmiley LOL

I am with you @kitcat51 regarding "like". "Literally" is the other one.

"Like, it is literally so cool";  is a sentence that would make me nuts.

I'd rather have "cool" over FRI-YAY, Holi-YAY, and "honey"or as you said all the "social media speak"..............

I think "cool" is used by many people of a certain age, not just valley girls.  I know it dates us but an alternative adjective doesn't come easily to mind.  So, saying something is cool is lazy of us, in a way.

I never used "cool". I think that came after "neat" or maybe before? or maybe different parts of the country?🤔

I don't know anyone who says "neat" anymore. (well except me lol).

Anyone?

I always said that's neat!
