Cook's Essentials Pressure Cooker

I was considering purchasing the Cook's Essentials 4 qt. Pressure Cooker.  However, I was disappointed to see that almost of the customer reviews on this product are negative and give it a poor rating.  Has anyone else on this forum tried this model?  What did you like or not like about it?

Re: Cook's Essentials Pressure Cooker

I bought the two quart and was very disappointed.  I started with rice.  Did not cook completely but also burnt.  There was a piece of paper in the box that said "before returning this item please call this number" so I did.  After being on hold for around eight minutes they told me they were not familiar with the two quart so they could not help me.  I noticed steam escaping from the lid.  I triled one more time and and same result.  Mine was "As Is" and I have to wonder if it was returned because it was faulty.  Maybe it isn't sealing properly.  Returned it and will not be buying any Cook's Essentials pressure cookers.  Glad I started with rice so I didn't waste any meat!

Re: Cook's Essentials Pressure Cooker

If it has bad reviews I would pass.

Should have bought an Instant Pot Pressure Cooker during the Black Friday Sales. Amazon has a 3 qt for $70.

You could also try the 6 qt Cuisinart since it has a 2 yr warranty. Wal-Mart has this one for $70.

I don’t know which model you have, but my 4 quart Cook’s  Essentials pressure cooker works great. I’ve had it about three years.

Re: Cook's Essentials Pressure Cooker

Hi coconut1818....Sorry that you had a bad experience with your 2 qt. model.  How can it be that the QVC rep was not familiar with the 2 qt. model?  They have had this size for quite a while.  Sounds like maybe the rep did not know how to use their website.  I am thinking that "As Is" means it was a returned item, which brings up another question.  How could QVC re-sell an item that was obviously returned for a reason?  Glad you got your refund.  I hope QVC didn't try to charge you a "return shipping label" fee.  Good luck finding one that works well for you!Smiley Happy

Glad to hear you've had good luck with your 4 qt.model, Deeva.  Sounds like you got a good one.  You said you've had it about three years.  Possibly the new ones now were made differently.  Happy cooking!

@rose123 - I have the CE 4 qt pressure cooker and love it. Never had a problem with it and I've had it for many years.

Re: Cook's Essentials Pressure Cooker

I received Cooks Essentials 5qt for Christmas about 7 yrs ago from my daughter. I use it a lot and the more I use it the more I fall in love with it. It cooks/slow cook/brown etc. Sorry yours isn't doing well. I just hope mine doesn't give out.

I sent this message from the last living brain cell I have.
