@ALRATIBA

Now you've done it...triggered the trip down memory lane....!!

We lived in a row of houses all the same... individual homes, .not connected likw rowhouses, but somewhat like the opening credits of "All in the Family".....( although those MAY have been connected...can't recall the opening shots)...

Terra Cotta tile roofs..fromt stoop..stucco on the outside and a.tiny little lawn....we used our bus passes to ride the City Bus to school and shopped on Myrtle Avenue....and spent hours in Forest Park....I think we moved there the year the carousel burned down....

We used to go to an ice cream type store near the HS..ice cream, egg creams.........I can not recall the name...do you know where I mean? It was very popular.....

Sounds like Jahn's ... ice cream parlor.  Great place. EVERYBODY went there!   Last time I was there was in the early 90s when I was visiting an aunt and uncle in the area.

Makes me wonder how some can function on a daily basis in the real world.

Agree that constructive criticism can birth new, positive changes. But, it's all about the delivery of negative comments. This can be done gracefully, and be well accepted. I've witnessed this here many times.

Sadly, some negativity is often just baiting to stir up the crowd, while reflecting personal preferences that may not affect the group as a whole. Often there's no concrete information to support a negative comment.

It can become annoying at times. We all have different likes, dislikes and backgrounds affecting our experiences here.

The best solutions are more tolerance, or simply ignoring irritating posts, but not throwing fuel on the fire by announcing intent. One negative is enough, without adding more in response.

I agree with you.

By virtue of thier profession, the hosts and vendors are open to good and bad criticism, and if they can NOT take it, well, you know what they can do.

And, they know this before the first camera ever blinks on.....

BUT...the forum administrators can decide what is and is not allowed here, and do.

On THIS forum, they do a good job with too personal, any profane, and most nasry  personal attacks on thier hosts and vendor, and, other posters.... which is thier right and is right.

And I have to also say....Qurate kind of asks for this commentary with thier new programming....they can't expect to present items for sale to paying customers, in a vulgar or boorish manner, and NOT expect some blow back.

Not when thier prime audience was, for the most part ,not raised to accept the "new" kind of programming.

It's not only here, but many other websites that host QVC forums,  show how low they've sunk as far as programming is concerned.

And in the end, sales figures and stock price are all that matter and will matter.

And Q knows we have an Off button too.

They are making thier programming decisions accordingly....portraying thier older female customers as air headed idiots and morons.

You know. The customers who have discretionary dollars to spend.

If they are happy with the financial results, I guess that's all that matters.

There are LOTS of other places to shop.!

absolutely

everyone has biases

Everyone has biases. It's true. Having a bias doesn't make you a bad person, however, and not every bias is negative or hurtful. It's not recognizing biases that can lead to bad decisions at work, in life, and in relationships.
