Your point is well taken, and my post was not well stated.  I just meant that forums are designed to promote discussions.  If only positive comments were received the forum is  pretty close to becoming a publicity vehicle for the company.  I'm afraid my word choice reflected some of my biases-I'll be more careful.

The Dude was comical.  I don't understand why some people were offended.  I always say consider the source when people are making comments.  The Dude might return under a different name.

I didn't find The Dude comical and reported their posts as inappropriate.  The OP of this thread does not sound like the same person to me.

Maybe "comical" was the wrong choice of word...

I was just surprised to see how long each string of comments lasted from whomever what was....because we ALL know how often things get poofed...

Who ever it was blasted almost every responder to thier comments....so it was interesting in that respect....

I just found it amusing that an adult could get that wound up over a shopping channel.

Really wierd!

I think it was a troll just trying to get a rise.

No adult could be THAT regressed, repressed or "outraged" by a demonstration of how pants fit!!!

And I guess you're right about the OP....maybe I came on this thread too soon after the Dude posts....

It was different that's for sure. I wish I could've read them all but it was poofed before I could!

If you notice,  every single post from "The Dude" has been eradicated and eliminated.   His/Her entire posting history.   That's quite an event which doesn't often occur.

However,  I believe that He/She has another established identity which will soon reappear, but I absolutely do not believe is the OP here.

Unfortunately, it seems many have never bothered to  Google "Message Board Etiquette".  It's very helpful for those who are new to the boards.

One other thing comes to mind .... occasionally, two posters who've known each other for decades, may not be having an "argument" ... but in reality, it's actually a "spirited conversation".   

Granted, it can be hard to tell the difference.
