Just a reminder ....  I found a $26 error on my QVC statement yesterday.  Almost paid the balance as it was until I took a closer look.  Long story short, I called Customer Service, they admitted it was their error, so I paid the corrected amount.   I don't order much from QVC and don't get a bill every month - usually my bill has only one item on it.  Because of that, my error was easy to spot.  Please everyone, double-check your bills.  Mistakes happen.

Thank you for this information. I do check my bills and as I do it I wonder if I'm wasting my time. Thank you for letting me know it's worth the effort.

What was the error?  Did they charge you for something you didn't order?  Did they charge you the wrong price on the item you bought?  Or did they double bill an easy pay?  To me it's important to know what they did wrong.

Thank you for pointing this out. We check our statements carefully from all vendors (utilities, groceries, online purchases etc.) and do find errors. It takes time but it is worth it.  Sometimes we go for weeks without an issue and then some months it seems like almost every statement has something wrong with it.

I remember my Mom teaching me to balance my checkbook.  I used to spend hours on that trying to find a mistake. The only mistakes I found were my own, not the bank's!

But electronic statements are a different story and worth checking every time. And of course you still need to keep an eye on your checkbook balance tooSmiley Happy

I order a lot of stuff from QVC and some (not anywhere near as much from HSN).  Seveal times when I've returned things to HSN I noticed I kept getting the refund 'credited' to HSN Store credit.  In other words it had to be used at HSN instead of refunding it back to my credit card (which I specifically said).  I'd even write it ACROSS the return slip to make sure they saw that TOO.

The first few times I let it slide because it wasn't much and I figured I'd buy something anyway.  But after the 3rd time I called Customer Service and she apologized and fixed the refunds.  I haven't returned anything since, but you have to keep an eye out for stuff.
