Changes in programming and hosts

I cannot keep up with adding, taking away, pairing of hosts, etc. it seems when I turn on a show I like to watch there's a new hosts, or the show doesn't exist anymore. I do not care for most of the changes. About the only time I watch is on Monday, fashion days, or Tuesday morning with Garold's. I used to really like watching Saturday nights with Courtney and Kim Gravel but the last few times I've watched Courtney has not been hosting and I really don't care for the substitutes. I'm just really getting disinterested in QVC and don't enjoy watching anymore

It took me a minute to figure out who "Garolds" is. Haha, very cute. And, yes, I like to watch Garolds, too.

Re: Changes in programming and hosts

I don't think you can really use the same criteria for shopping channel hosts that you might use for a regular TV network talk show.  There's nothing to "keep up" with.  Schedules change and hosts probably switch shifts and shows.   (I am guessing those with the most seniority may have more say as to when they are scheduled.)

In QVC's eyes, I am speculating, the hosts are pretty much interchangeable ... a talking head that gives the viewer information, period.   Of course, we like some hosts more than others for any number of reasons, but the most important thing (to me) is that they explain the information well, and in a timely manner.

JMO, of course.

@Tinkrbl44 If we can't compare QVC to broadcast television, why don't we try comparing QVC today with QVC of the past; where Pat and Dan hosted The QVC Morning Show for 20 years, Mary Beth Roe hosted Gold Rush for 17 years, Jane Rudolph Treacy hosted AM Style for 9 years and Silver Style for 17 years, and Bob Bowersox hosted In the Kitchen with Bob for 17 years? QVC's programming and host changes over the past several years are disruptive and driving viewers away.

JMO. I really don't care who hosts a show. I just want details about the items. They are salespeople, not friends or acquaintances. I don't want to watch them act out or listen to personal stories.

Exactly!  It is a shopping channel.  As I've posted many times, get rid of the hosts altogether and let the vendors explain the products.  I do not want to be "entertained."  I want info on what's being sold.

They're doing a lot more swittching lately.  I wonder why so many of of the long-time hosts like Jane T, Mary Beth and others are hosting late at night and into the early morning hours Eastern time?  Even Shawn is on after Midnight.

And on QVC2 I don't know who the host even is so much of the the time.  A lot of times the host is a vendor.

Re: Changes in programming and hosts

I find I'm watching far less of the Q since they no longer show the host name in program guide.  There are some hosts I choose not to watch for a variety of reasons.  On the other hand, there are hosts I fine very professional and enjoyable to watch.  But since I can get that info from the guide, I just am not likely to tune in at all.  I wonder why HSN isn't afraid to list their host and vendor names?

They probably don't want the hosts to have a following - easier to get rid of them later with less uproar. They don't want the hosts to have any kind of power.
