I'm neither pro- nor con-celebrity lines.  Many of the celebrity clothing lines are meh, but in some case they items are well designed.  I thought that Candace Cameron Bure's line was very well done, as is Jennie Garth's (I've never purchased anything from either BTW).   OTOH, Christie Brinkley leaves me unmoved, ditto Jaclyn Smith.  I don't feel remotely compelled to even try celebrity skin care or hair care stuff.  'Oh, this face creme is why you have been around since 1942 but look like you were born yesterday?'  Nope, not for me.

Most of them are not having Rhianna or Haley Bieber or Kim Kardashian level success with their lines, be it cosmetics, clothing or both.  However, if they do, then good for them.  It neither helps nor hurts me.

I usually tune in, out of curiosity.  Would be interesting to find out which ones were easy to work with and which were - Ya know, difficult.  I remember when Joan Collins had a line here.  She was extra-focused on the sales figures!

IMO, there's a huge difference between someone lke Joan Rivers, who had a second career discussing fashion, and an actress like Scarlett Johansson, an Avenger lol, hawking some skin care product.

I can understaand Naomi Watts, who's pretty much over the hill, maybe needing the money, but Scarlett J.has more money than she'll ever be able to spend.

How in the world do you know that Scarlett J. has more money than she'll ever be able to spend @longtimeqvcwatcher ?

Naomi W. is "over the hill" ?   Wow.

And without buying customers businesses won't succeed and employees will get laid off. There has to be a balance and way off kilter today.

Would you work 40 hours for $500 or $600?  What does that $600 buy? It's certainly not medication, housing, food, health insurance, clothes for the kids, child care, transportation, utilities, etc etc. Stop looking down on those who struggle. I'm tired of people saying get a job when the job market is garbage.

The first celebrity thing I remember buying was Farrah Fawcet costume jewelry from HSN way way back in the 1980's I think.  It was excellent quality and looks new to this day.

Joan Rivers had nice things, and Martha Stewart.  And what they have sold was for the most part things they seemed to have some idea of its quality and usefulness.  You can sense most of it is simply slap my name on something.

First celeb line I got into was Connie Stevens years ago on HSN.  Anyone remember her Time Machine with all the little tubes of skin products?  Think her line was called Forever Spring. She was on hsn a lot back in the day.
