They just can't get those christmas decorations down fast enough.  They will be pushing Valentines day before January.  Really sad.

Considering most of the stores seemed to start decorating for Christmas the day before Halloween, I’m not sure it makes a big difference how relevant the timing is.

Truthfully, no stores or homes in NYC are taking down Christmas decor at all as far as I can tell. Christmas is bigband it’s special and I’m not seeing any retreat from it at all. I do see the card store and Party City racks filling with Valentine merchandise, but Christmas is still very evident in those same stores.

Christmas is like planning a wedding. So many lists to make, finding the right gfits, planning menus. People get cranky, something is forgotten, the caterer had to cancel, my outfit makes me look fat, or the right flower wasn't in stock. Everybody's in tears.

But the day has finally arrived and believe it or not everything goes off without a hitch. All the stressing for nothing. Made it!! We all like each other again and look forward to next year.

I love the Christmas holiday.  Sure, there's a lot of planning and work with it but also a lot of joy for me.  I realize not everyone  enjoys the time and their reasons are their own and justified but I sure like it.

Time to start filling that gift closet now for Valentine's Day.

The countdown will soon be on!

Remember when we were kids and Christmas couldn't get here fast enough?  It seemed an eternity until it arrived.

Fast forward to adulthood.  The days in December fly by...I feel like the hourglass of days is turned upside down and the sand is slipping through ever...so....fast...and I'm stressing through all the wrapping, buying, baking, decorating, cooking, cooking, did I say cooking? I know I'm getting older and crankier, because every year now, it stresses me more!!!

Christmas is what you make of it.  What stores or other people do have no impact on what I do.

QVC starts with Christmas in July.  The sctich goes on and on from July to December.  I can't wait until January.  I am sick of Christmas on QVC.  I don't even enjoy the decorations anymore.   Too, too much.

My Granddaughter is what gives me joy at Christmas....

She helps me do my Christmas Village.....we bake cookies and then excitement telling me what he Elf did overnight!!

I attended her Christmas concert and the little kids singing was so special.

There is nothing like Christmas through the eyes of a child
