I dont understand these type of post yearly, especially in the summer.  Employee's do get, earn and negotiate for vacations.. Besides its none of our business.

The hosts continually talk about their vacations.  Some of them talk in excess about it (Turks & Caicos).  They make it everyone's business.

Re: Anothr vacation?

[ Edited ]

Absolutely!

I'm so tired of the "not your business" nonsense.  Almost as trite, banal and pathetic  as the oft-thrown out "get a hobby."  So relentlessly unoriginal and tiresome.

Some talk about it incessantly on air and I'm sure Qurate encourages social media posting discussion on the topic.

It is, therefore, intentionally and deliberately made the "business" of each and every viewer, shopper, follower, customer and shareholder.

So if a bank teller, cashier, sales associate or any other employee talks about taking a vacation you feel it is your business to know how many PTO days they receive? You must be kidding.  Do you want the details of why they are on sick leave? How do you know that they talk about vacation"incessantly?" You must spend an inordinate amount of time watching these hosts and documenting how many times they mention vacations?  Maybe you need to get a hobby.

So much that this particular host couldn't do a decent presentation ofthe Triforce luggage.

She forced the producer to show pics of her vacays, talked way too much about her favorite hotels, airports, (she loves the smell of jet fuel) and as usual, chatted the vendor up about everything except the product she was supposed to be selling.

I get the feeling they are letting hosts run amuck because they know they aren't going to be there much longer~~~why bother?

I am sure that there is a year end bonus incentive/merit reward for social media participation.

Number of posts, followers, videos, pics, likes, equate to financial compensation.   Makes great sense for Qurate management to do this and some hosts take great advantage!

To compare a television personality to a bank teller is the height of absurdity.   I highly doubt that the bank provides the teller with public social media platforms.   A teller, after all, is unlikely to be a television personality.

I don't watch much Q anymore.

I'd prefer to watch the Travel Channel.. She's (Turks and Caicos) another one I don't watch..Along with the traveler to Orlando.

Vacation where ever you want but leave it at the business door.

No one goes on vacation as often as Courtney.  We are paying for them.

I don't know about QVC but here, many big employers have an "earned time" model.  At my job 8 hours a week went into my Earned Time bank.  That was 8 hours of vacation time and most years I didn't use it all. .I kept accumulating it.  Qvc hosts make a whole lot more than I made.  The long time hosts have the time and money to take multiple vacations a year.  I cashed out my Earned Time when I retired.

@bells4me  If that's the case "we" are also paying for the vacations of the MODS, order entry operators, CS workers, warehouse workers, QVC cafeteria workers, etc. Do you also have a problem with that? Every vacation at QVC is approved by TPTB. Why wouldn't each employee take their allotted time? In some companies "you use it or lose it".

Resentment of the hosts' paid vacation days is as robust as resentment of their European vacations,  second homes, beach houses and large bucolic farms.
