I realize these posts have been done to death but I recently had an experience that was unusual to me.

I returned the TSV Revitalign sneakers A729200 since they didn't fit properly.

QVC charged me over $12.00 for the return.  I called CS and learned that I was charged $5.50 shipping PLUS the $6.95 for the mailing label.  I cannot recall ever being charged for both before. I only recall the $6.95 for the label.

Customer service agent said that's how they do it.  I complained (gently) and she refunded the $5.50

My question:  have they always done it this way, that is charging both shipping and label?

yes you pay for shipping both ways

Thank you.  Well what is the $6.95 for then does anyone know?   I always thought that was for shipping!

@Beammeupscotty

As you say the $6.95 is the return shipping charge.

And yes they've always done it this way.

Yes, I have always paid the $6.95 return shipping charge.  In this case they charged me not only the $6.95 but also $5.50

@Beammeupscotty

I just re-read your original post.  Now I see what you are saying that you were charged 5.50 plus 5.50 plus 6.95 to return the item.

Luckily they gave you the 5.50 refund.  Looks like they made a mistake and hopefully it doesn't happen again.

@Beammeupscotty

It can be confusing! 🫤

I still always do the math on any returns I may have here and other places.  Somehow it just never seems like I'm getting enough back!😄

@rockygems123 - Read post #18.  She was correctly charged $6.95, plus not refunded the original shipping of $5.50.  So a total of $12.45.

She's realized she was in the wrong.  However, the CS rep refunded her the $5.50 original shipping as a courtesy.  She wasn't charged $5.50 twice.

It is their policy, and you should respect it when you return things. I personally disagree with their shipping policies, so I buy only on free shipping days, and I only buy what I'll keep. I get Sketcher shoes now, because I got burned on other brands that didn't fit.

@amyb I don't have a printer either  so if I have to return I go to UPS and then call QVC and tell them how much it cost to print label and Then I get reimbursed

Wow, ok, if that happens again to me, I'll try that. I always figure, "you can always ask", as my mom used to say, "all they can say is no." ...but usually, QVC has always credited me on any customer service calls I've made like that, like to credit the $6.95 for some valid reason. I'll pay the $6.95, begrudgingly if it's totally on me, but if it's a product issue, even if not technically "defective" but quality not as expected or something like that, I'll ask for reimbursement, and gotta say, QVC, has always credited me in those cases.

But it's just all so time consuming, I'm sure many don't bother, and so, QVC probably doesn't have to do that a lot, so when it does come up, they just go ahead and take care of it for the customer.

@Bookplate   I had a similar damage situation with HSN. I ordered a TS pillow that came with an eye mask. The box was torn/smashed open and no pillow but the eye mask was still there. They asked me to send back the eye mask? I refused. I told her the box was no where reusable and impossible. I did get a refund. I remember the days when no questions asked about damage or lost items.

At least when glass items are broken I haven't had to send the pieces back so far. Told do to safety isn't worth it.
